[Hoooo boy, somehow it felt like he had been out of it for weeks...And judging by the fact he was lying on the ground of a hotel room probably meant that wasn't a very good nap either... Wait a minute, what was he doing here? For that matter where was here? For a moment, everything was blank. Almost like it was waking out of a dream. Or perhaps in this case, into one.]

[The sudden barking and trampling finally woke him up completely, but in case it didn't there was plenty of slobber to go around too. Flail as he could, Emizel was no match for the ever so vicious dream eater, one that probably hasn't seen much contact for days, if not longer. Okay, now this was beginning to feel familiar.]

...Moxie? [Finally he spoke up once he had a second to. The Meow Wow's ears perked and somehow it managed to look even happier. Now this meant for cuddles, lots and lots of cuddles.]

O-okay, okay! I-I missed you too...!!

[...Or at least he probably should have. Sadly Emizel had completely forgotten all about this place, all about the dream eaters. But how did he? And for that matter, is it going to eventually happen again?]

[But, maybe it isn't time to think about that. Once Moxie got everything out of his system he had better check the network to find out what was going on, things really did not feel right in more ways than one. Hopefully though, he at least remembered how to even use it.]

[Well this..sure was a thing. The room was dark, very dark than usual. Though being in Traverse Town it's not too much of a surprise. It's just that his coat generally helped resolving that. But no, not today, err...tonight to be more exact. Emizel tried sleeping, but now he wasn't. Instead he was huddled at the foot of the bed. Sooomething was amiss if he was being this upset, this stressed.]

[This certainly was not the first time Emizel worried about this, oh nooo. It really kind of scared him; especially being the only demon, and not even close to the right candidate for it. However that concern all eventually went away before. After all, it does seem impossible(and silly) for a demon to simply die in a dream world from a lack of fear, and after spending enough time here it's proving to be the opposite anyway. But maybe, what if, he has lax a little too much? Getting way too soft? He might be safe right now, but what about later? What's going to happen if they do conquer whatever darkness is responsible for this? What will happen to him?]

[Dammit, he was just starting to get attached to some of the people here. Now it might all be a bad, terrible thing. Sure camaraderie speeches were totally Valvatorez's thing, but this...this was kinda different. Or at least, this was different, right? Oh man, what is he supposed to even do?]

[This might be easier to think through if Moxie would stop whining at him, though.] ....Go away. [That undertone of aggression reeeaaally did not mean to be there. But at the same time, couldn't really be helped.]

... What do you do when you feel alone?

[Apparently, nothing wants to make him stop thinking about it now.]

[It was late. Although Emizel's sleep schedule was already unusual, Moxie could go on with even less. Because of that, there was plenty of times where the Meow Wow was awake in the room with an unconscious demon present. These nights were generally very boring until Emizel woke up again. Patience was generally key, although sometimes Moxie had little of that.]

[Almost any time Emizel moved it would alert the Spirit and he would go curiously take a look, usually nothing would happen though and Moxie would go back to lying down. It just happened that this one particular time when Emizel rolled over, Moxie got up too fast and bumped into the nightstand. Didn't seem to have really hurt him, but when he went to go check on Emizel again something clicked underneath a paw.]

[Click! And sent!]

[The Meow Wow lifted an ear and looked down and whined questioningly at the device. He seemed so unsure at whatever he just did exactly although... probably should take a foot off of it just to be safe.]

[The feed clicks on and there just seems to be only Emizel there. Looking tired, in a frustrated kind of way.]

If there's anyone listening that has one of those rabbits too... I think I need help.

[He turned the screen and tilted it closer to the ground. There was certainly a Me Me Bunny Spirit with him, but it was being frumpy and ignoring him. In fact as soon as it noticed it was on screen it made a little 'hmph' squeak, lifted its head up and turned its back on it.]

See? It keeps doing that. Is this supposed to be normal? [Isn't even sure what he diiiid]
trademark_skull: (Please shut up now)
[It was the middle of the night, or middle of the morning, whichever you want to call it. For most here, the art of sleep may have been... sort of an odd ritual than normal, with the constant reoccurring dreams. Emizel had been good about it not bothering him that much for quite some time. Many demons had a habit for staying awake for days on end and then sleeping all that time off later. Which may have been part of the case here, only now, this time the dreams were really starting to get to him.]

[Getting to sleep wasn't the hard part, it was trying to stay there. Rolling to a different side, curling up, straightening out, lie on his back, neither of those things were making anything different. Still the same dream, still the same memory. Being abandoned was bad enough just the first time, of course he didn't want to be reminded of it another twenty times more.]

[The next time Emizel woke up he got so fed up that he chucked the pillow across the room, disrupting the Spirits. From there he sat up and brought his knees to his chest.]

... I'm not allowed to forget, am I? [Buries face.]

[... Alright alright. Maybe there was something that could distract him from this. A minute or so later he looked up to the nightstand and grabbed the device, and clicked it open. There had to be something else going on..]

((If I know whenever or not Emizel is freelancing hotels again, or if he's staying with the Tea Shop gang or Days Trio by now, this post may double as an action one too))

[The room was rather quiet, just a small bedroom with not a whole lot of light in it. There was the faint sound of something flapping although it presumably Val watching overhead.]

[He started to think more about all the clues given to them so far. The sleep they were all seemingly in, the repeating dreams, which obviously had to be caused by someone... or something, the keyhole, which didn't appear until after the Nightmares were gone, and it was their objective. And now apparently, it was happening all over again. Most likely to go to yet another new world and start over again. Why?]

... No matter what way I look at it now, we really are doing somebody's work for them.

[And he's not liking this one. bit.]

[The camera had been aimed slightly to the side of the demon's face as he traveled down a street, and gazed up at all the shop signs.]

So what exactly is there to do here anyway? [slows down a bit and pouts.] It kinda looks no different than that other world.

Aside from more sun. [Which he preferred having less of, honestly. This was going to be annoying getting used to.]

[Just as he finished a Komory Bat squeaked, and perched directly on Emizel's hood to stretch its wings.]
trademark_skull: (Yeano)
[Well, maybe now was better than any time to learn how to use this. And maybe a better exposition of what was going on, why those figments created a blue dogcat, or anything else he could do of.]

So uh.. [The demon didn't look all that impressed, perhaps a little lost too.] These um, dream things.

[He pointed the watch towards the Dream Eater sitting docilely beside him.]

... They aren't hard to raise, are they?

[Because going by looks so far this was going to be a chore, in his opinion.]

[The video flickers on to show both Wash and North in what looks like one of the hotel rooms. It’s far enough away that it’s obvious they’ve set it up on a flat surface somewhere. Wash is still wearing his helmet; old habits die very hard.]

Hey. Does anyone know anything about these Dream Eater things? We know they can fight and that you can make them from little rainbow pieces; aside from that, I’ve got nothing.

[There’s a squeak from offscreen, and Wash looks over-] Hey, get over here. [-and leans out of the frame.]

[North, meanwhile, has his helmet off, because all things considered, this area’s probably safe and he can let his guard down a bit. ]

Also, do they all carry loose change or something? It’s an odd way of making money.

[He glances over at Wash.]

Everything alright, Wash?

Yeah, fine, just- c’mere!

[There’s more squeaking offscreen, and finally Wash leans back into the frame, pulling his bat into his lap. The bat squeaks piteously, and it’s pretty obvious that one wing is bandaged.]

Is there a vet around here, or someone who knows how to take care of this? [He gestures at the bandage.] I can do this much, but that’s about it.

[Responses will come from both Wash ([personal profile] unrecovered) and North ([personal profile] brodakota).]
