[ The communicator clicks on, revealing the sunlit decore of Twilight Town. Sunset Hill, specifically, for those familiar with the location.

What should also be familiar is the statue in view of the camera. Not so familiar? The portal set at the base, the glow pulsing brightly. Invitingly, even. A pricklemane bounces towards it, then stops, tilting its head from left to right and waggling its ears in a show of interest. ]

This wasn't here when I passed by this morning. But it looks like the wait for something new to happen is over.

[ After 10 seconds or so of focus, the camera swings around until the firm frown of Lin Beifong is visible. ]

We don't know what might be through here, and securing a safe point on the other side is a priority. I plan on crossing over shortly. Anyone in Twilight Town is welcome to join me, but I recommend being ready for combat.

[ooc: this post is action/prose friendly! feel free to reply to Lin, or go ahead and do your own thing in a seperate thread. :D ]

[ The communicator device flicks on, revealing a moving row of cobblestones and metal-plated feet, occasionally interrupted by the swish of a spiky purple something accidentally impeding movement. Faint muttering is audible, words short and clipped with displeasure. ]

..What are the Equalists up to now.

[ The device swivels, the camera revealing the face of an older human woman with greying hair and twin scars on her right cheek. Green eyes narrow as she glares at the communicator, clearly Less Than Happy to be here. Something purple and distinctly spikey can be seen bouncing behind her, as though eager to get her attention - its efforts don't seem to be working, however.

After a pause, she speaks directly into the device.

Those winged 'kupo'-bears would have me believe this is some sort of 'waking dream', one being shared by others. In that case, if anyone here knows the way out, preferably to Republic City, I'd appreciate directions as soon as possible.

[flatly] Whatever sort of game is being played here, I'm not prepared to be a part of it. I have responsibilities there that can't wait on someone else's whim's.

[The video flickers on to show both Wash and North in what looks like one of the hotel rooms. It’s far enough away that it’s obvious they’ve set it up on a flat surface somewhere. Wash is still wearing his helmet; old habits die very hard.]

Hey. Does anyone know anything about these Dream Eater things? We know they can fight and that you can make them from little rainbow pieces; aside from that, I’ve got nothing.

[There’s a squeak from offscreen, and Wash looks over-] Hey, get over here. [-and leans out of the frame.]

[North, meanwhile, has his helmet off, because all things considered, this area’s probably safe and he can let his guard down a bit. ]

Also, do they all carry loose change or something? It’s an odd way of making money.

[He glances over at Wash.]

Everything alright, Wash?

Yeah, fine, just- c’mere!

[There’s more squeaking offscreen, and finally Wash leans back into the frame, pulling his bat into his lap. The bat squeaks piteously, and it’s pretty obvious that one wing is bandaged.]

Is there a vet around here, or someone who knows how to take care of this? [He gestures at the bandage.] I can do this much, but that’s about it.

[Responses will come from both Wash ([personal profile] unrecovered) and North ([personal profile] brodakota).]
