notquitedracula: (Chillin')
Now, how does this thing...

[It takes Soma a few seconds to figure out that the wristband comm is working as intended, and a few more to figure out what he wanted to say.] Ah, there it goes.

My name's Soma. I've already been given the basic rundown on where I am, but... well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't skeptical. A week ago I'd have called the whole situation insane. [A wry smile.] But that was a week ago, before... well.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. I just wanted to get on this thing and see if any of my friends are out there, and ask if anyone has any information they'd like to pass along to the new guy.
sailorgenerous: (Faaaaaabulous~)
[The video opens to show Rarity in a fancy sundress - those that know her know this is simple "stepping out" attire. She flashes a bright smile at the communicator.]

Hello, everypony! As most of you know, there is a party coming up soon. It just so happens that party attire is one of my specialties. If anypony needs something to wear to the party, I would be more than happy to design and fashion a one-of-a-kind ensemble for you. That goes for Spirits as well. [The camera moves to show Spike in a green bow tie and top hat, looking just as happy as can be.]

Feel free to stop by the boutique anytime.
trademark_skull: (Sweet lullabies)
[It was late. Although Emizel's sleep schedule was already unusual, Moxie could go on with even less. Because of that, there was plenty of times where the Meow Wow was awake in the room with an unconscious demon present. These nights were generally very boring until Emizel woke up again. Patience was generally key, although sometimes Moxie had little of that.]

[Almost any time Emizel moved it would alert the Spirit and he would go curiously take a look, usually nothing would happen though and Moxie would go back to lying down. It just happened that this one particular time when Emizel rolled over, Moxie got up too fast and bumped into the nightstand. Didn't seem to have really hurt him, but when he went to go check on Emizel again something clicked underneath a paw.]

;lploooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

[Click! And sent!]

[The Meow Wow lifted an ear and looked down and whined questioningly at the device. He seemed so unsure at whatever he just did exactly although... probably should take a foot off of it just to be safe.]
spaceracist: (don't be like that)
[Well, this has been a hell of a day...couple of days? Emile's not entirely sure, since his mission clock isn't synching with anything. He's completely out of his element here, especially after the little white fuzzy bastards put him in some kind of stasis a couple times. The idea of those things controlling everything here--which they clearly do--isn't comforting in the least to him. He's also not entirely sure what to make of this little snake...thing that he supposedly "made" from those weird pieces.

At least there was something to fight here, and a few battles with Nightmares had done a lot to calm him down. So now he was poking around with the communicator, and wonder of wonders there do in fact seem to be other people here. Might as well see what kind of afterlife he's landed in.

The video clicks on to show armor that might be familiar to anyone who's been paying attention to the Freelancers, but there's a very distinctive skull pattern carved into the domes gold surface of his smooth EVA helmet.]

This is Noble-Four requesting contact from any UNSC-friendly forces in the area. This don't make any goddamn sense.

--And are those little white bastards shitting me or is it really called "munny"?
guerriera: (Default)
[ Greenish-blue seafoam green turquoise Aqua blue-ish armour appears on screen, though the helmet design is a little different from that of the other Freelancers folks here are likely familiar with. It stares sternly into the camera; the backdrop of endless stars and a tilted rooftop behind them indicate that this person's somewhere in Traverse Town.

For those of you who haven't met this freelancer yet - surprise! It's a lady. A very serious sounding one, at that.
]

My name is Agent Carolina. I believe most of you already know several people from my world who've been here some time.

I arrived only recently, but I've been brought up to speed on matters regarding the Mother of Invention. [Her head dips slightly.] I'd be interested to know the locations inside the ship where people encountered whatever this... invisible being is, along with anything that stood out to witnesses - particularly the type of damage inflicted. 'Magic' isn't natural to our world, but from what I've been told, some of our technology might potentially imitate it.

Any sounds heard before or after would also be relevant.

[ There's a brief pause, followed by a clipped: ]

Thank you for your time.

[ Another brief pause. ]

And North, when you see this, get in contact. I'd like a word, please.
dork_of_keys: (Default)
[Well, the communicator is not safe even when hidden. However, the only clue we have to the perpetrator's identity is the sound of purring. The video gives viewers a first person view as the cat walks from Sora's room in the dalmatian's house to... the bathroom in said house. The shower is running and Sora can be heard singing.

Huh, looks like Sora was a wee bit careless. The door is open just a crack, enough for the cat to carefully push it open. And he does so just as Sora pushes open the shower curtain and reaches for the towel hanging on the towel rack. He stops, looking at the cat and as he comes to the realization that the communicator is filming, viewers have a perfect view of Sora and nothing but Sora. Then it clicks that this is PUBLIC.
]

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!

[Lucifer drops the communicator and runs as Sora first snaps the curtain shut again, then reaches out to fetch his towel. There's a grumbled litany of some kind as he dries off quickly and fixes the towel around his waist to cover that which has already been glimpsed before opening the curtain back up and stepping out, blushing and clearly not happy. He doesn't have anything to say as he picks the communicator up and turns it off.]

((OoC: Icon keywords so very relevant...))
allfunandgamesuntil: (uh...well)
[York's image comes up on the communicator, and even with armor on he looks fairly confused. He's sitting in the hotel, and Sparky's in his usual position on top of York's head.]

Okay, so I know I've been kind of distracted most of this week, but what the heck happened on the Mother of Invention? Is everyone okay?
brodakota: (no helmet)
[It's early, but not early enough that it's obscene or anything. If you're a early riser, you're probably up at this time anyway.

North's on the camera looking a little bleary eyed, like he just woke up. Normally this would be a text, but he's not awake enough for that.]

Word to the wise, don't leave your spirit treats where the spirits can get at them.

[If one could see his room, one would see a chaos of dream pieces and clothing thrown about the room, as well as a very annoyed pricklemane because he did not get to eat. There's a nose poking into the screen now, that's alternating between sniffing and bumping against North, trying to get his attention. Person, person, pay attention to me, person. Do you have more treats? I'm still hungry and they were good. Person!

North has to push the nose away.]

Fine, we'll go outside and get more.

[He looks down at the floor before picking up something might have been clothing at one point.]

You ate my shirt to?

[end feed]

punsofiron: (hrmph)
[The comm comes on to the face of a young blonde woman in a black Iron Maiden shirt with a brick wall against her back. She fiddles a moment, getting a feel for the device on her wrist, then rests her chin on her hand and looks down at the camera with some interest.]

So, a little birdie told me that this is some kind of dream world and we're all stuck in it until we find a way to wake ourselves up.

[She tilts the comm over slightly to indicate the Pricklemane in the background, wandering around idly and looking around the premises; apparently they're outside the general store.]

Guess that explains this guy, at least. Granted, I much prefer the dream where I'm fighting rage zombies with an M-16 and Bruce Campbell in his underwear, but I guess I'll take it. I've heard weirder stories. So. What do you guys do for fun around here?
hiptobe_eraqus: (Resolute)
[Eraqus comes onscreen, looking quite serious business.]

This is a general message to everyone who's thought of traveling to the world that's appeared: please use the utmost care, and refrain from doing so unless you are absolutely prepared for combat, or are in a large group.

There is some creature or entity there that is attacking people at random, even those in groups, and has already caused a lot of harm. It is very fast, and no one has seen it yet even upon a direct attack, which suggests it either has some degree of invisibility or time manipulation. I would recommend people don't travel there until we can find some way to detect and stop it.

On that note, if you have any technical or magical knowledge on detecting invisibility or related, now would be the time to bring it up.

[Something peers in from behind Eraqus: his new Dream Eater, a Thunderaffe. She seems to be prancing in place, as if she's ready to show that strange menace who's boss. Come on, she can take it! Eraqus turns around.]

No, Soemon, you need a lot of training first.
unlucky_hero: (Geeez)
[When the feed clicks it appears to be pointing down at a blue eyed Prickmane. It seemed to have noticed right away that it was recording by the way its ears perked up. Although its person must be oblivious still, so it chirped.]

Huh? [The voice was still off screen but in a few seconds he moved it.] Oh!

Geez, I didn't think it was going to start right away.. [Nervously scratches the back of his head. He didn't even have an introduction planned out yet or anything!]

S-so umm.. this may sound stupid but, what is exactly going on? I'm not too sure how much I believe this whole 'dream' thing. I mean for one thing, I haven't been suddenly in my underwear yet. And second, I've never heard of a dream that you can get hurt in before.

... Or can that sometimes happen? I don't think I even know anymore.
yinyangfox: (exasperation)
[ The communicator flips on, then off, then on, then off. It hisses and crackles, then flips back on. Than off yet again. Every time the communicator registers an image, it is the perplexed face of a young Asian male, lips pursed and eyes narrowed. His voice comes in on and off each time his finger jabs into the comm.]

...--is this thing?....--even know where thi--...comes from. Maybe its...--rk of some demonic enti--...--erhaps it is a curse of some sor--...

[ The constant clicking ceases suddenly, leaving the comm functioning on as the man lifts his head and blinks rapidly. An unhappy "Kupo, kupo!" can be heard out of view, followed by a hurried rush of high-pitched, aggravated words. ]

A thousand pardons! I had no idea it was a gift. I would have treated it with more respect. Please, honorable spirit, forgive my ignorance.

[ The slew of words cease spilling out at mach speed as the comm camera tilts along with the man, who bows politely, then holds his wrist out. ]

Would you be so kind as to explain this to me?

[ The comm camera shuts off again, staying off this time after a Moogle's face appears in view, followed by a fluffy hand.

Not long after, the comm crackles and snaps back on, revealing a handsome Asian face once more, marred only by an expression of puzzlement. ]

Excuse me. The little pink demon explained this is a way to communicate? I do not fully understand. It is a bit dark here.

[ He looks up and around, blinking rapidly before looking at the comm again. ]

I am in an unfamiliar village. Is there...a guide, perhaps? Or someone that can tell me what part of Kyoto this is? I was certain I knew all of the city, and I'm not entirely certain why I woke up in the middle of the street.
colorbymemory: (friends)
[From the look of things when the feed opens, one of Namine's Spirits is holding it--probably Batty. Namine herself is putting the finishing touches on a picture. It's a big one, too, drawn on one of the walls of a building in the fourth district. Anyone who cares to look closely will probably find themselves in it, sometimes more than once. It looks like Namine's drawn a picture of everyone with their friends, and not just those they knew from home, but those they've made here as well. People not present in the Real of Sleep are in it, too--Sora's drawn with Riku and Kairi and Donald and Goofy, for example.

Finally she looks up, and, oh dear, it looks like she didn't know she was on camera.]

You were recording?

[Batty chitters what is probably a 'yes'. It's pretty~ She was gonna show everyone anyway, right?

Namine sighs, then smiles slightly.]

After Nepeta showed us her, um, 'shipping wall' someone suggested I start a friendship wall. So I drew everyone with their friends...at least I think I managed to.
trademark_skull: (Something suspicious)
[The feed clicks on and there just seems to be only Emizel there. Looking tired, in a frustrated kind of way.]

If there's anyone listening that has one of those rabbits too... I think I need help.

[He turned the screen and tilted it closer to the ground. There was certainly a Me Me Bunny Spirit with him, but it was being frumpy and ignoring him. In fact as soon as it noticed it was on screen it made a little 'hmph' squeak, lifted its head up and turned its back on it.]

See? It keeps doing that. Is this supposed to be normal? [Isn't even sure what he diiiid]
4letters4ninja: (Spirit: DiNozzo)
[So, with Ziva gone, Fluffy and Abby have been in Wash's care. But, that doesn't mean the behave. They break out at least once a day to try to find Ziva. Why no, she totally didn't teach them how to pick locks. This time is slightly different though.

They brought Ziva's comm with them.

It's currently in Fluffy's possession, and he's in flight somewhere in Traverse Town. Every once in a while, Abby can be seen on the ground in the lens of the comm. They're talking back and forth to each other, mostly Where haven't we looked? and Hey! Over there!.

Then, there's the sound of gunfire off in the distance. Their person had a gun! And it sounded kind of like that sometimes. So, immediate direction change and off they go that way. The comm is tossed down to Abby and she catches it as he lands on her head, taking a break from flying for a moment.

The camera shows a glimpse of someone, in armor...some not-so-blue shade of blue, but not enough to show who it may be. Just...it's not who they were looking for.]
unrecovered: (I don't want to talk about it)
[The video starts abruptly and accidentally - the feed shows nothing but blue armored boots. When the blue and yellow helmet clatters to the ground, it becomes obvious it's Wash; when he drops to his knees and the video picks up the sound of heavy, labored breathing, it becomes obvious he's not doing too well. He murmurs, words indistinguishable, trying to talk himself out of whatever is happening while Fang and Melody make concerned noises. The feed jostles as Melody opens the communicator further, revealing the bridge of the Mother of Invention and the leaderboard above her, before she cuts the feed. She knows her person wouldn't want anyone to see this.]

[Later, the feed comes back on again, intentionally this time. Wash looks much more composed - much as he can with his helmet back on, at least. That may have to do with the fact that he's back in the hotel room.]

I don't know how, but the portal in Twilight Town leads to the Mother of Invention. I didn't get very far in. I just...thought you could use the warning.

[He'd meant to filter that to York, North, Wyoming, and Epsilon; he doesn't know that the first video exists or that it's messed up his filter.]
the_mechanic: (Default)
[There's a close-up view of a well-manicured goatee, though there's a bit of blood around the lips, and as he adjusts the camera, it's plain to see that the clearly-attractive man has definitely been in a fight recently. Put mildly. And also that he's wearing some kind of metal armor suit thing, with the face-mask open.

He opens his mouth to speak, then closes it again. Twice. This is not a man accustomed to being at a loss for words.]

Please tell me there's someone in this sparkly-rainbow-nightmare than can get a full sentence out, with minimal KUPO, that can tell me what the hell is going on?

...please?

[The camera pans out just enough to show the komory bat perched on the top of the man's head, chittering away happily. Tony swipes at him half-heartedly, as if they've been through this a few times already, and the bat makes no motion to vacate his vantage point.

Tony looks pleadingly into the camera, and with a deep sigh, cuts the feed.]
dork_of_keys: (Default)
[The feed comes on in a way that makes it obvious that Sora didn't turn it on intentionally. Seems like he bumped it. He can be heard discussing rent with a Moogle. The video shows the inside of what looks to be a very nice house.

When he's done talking to the Moogle, he looks around a little more. Jelly Bean and the cat can be seen poking around by a piano in the camera's skewed view of the house.
]

Leave it alone, you guys.

[After the (ignored) scolding, he turns his attention to his communicator... and sees that it's on. Cue sigh.]

We really need to talk to the Moogles about making it harder to turn these on by accident. Uh, anyway, I don't know about anyone else, but staying at the hotel is getting a little expensive.

[He turns the communicator to give a better view of the place he's looking at.]

This is kind of a big place to be moving into alone, but I thought I'd see how much the rent was anyway. In the waking world, there was a family of Dalmatians staying here after their world fell into darkness. Well, when I first got here, there was just the adults. The puppies were lost and... well, they were looking after a bunch of other puppies besides their own so there were a LOT of puppies to find.

[A discordant crash sounds from the piano and Jelly Bean can be heard barking. Sora looks like he's going to say something, but as soon as he turns around, both of his Spirits have gotten away from the piano and are sitting a short distance away, trying to look innocent. He grumbles something under his breath and turns his attention back to the communicator.]

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone might be interested. For two or three people splitting the rent, it would actually be cheaper to stay here than at the hotel.

[He leaves it unspoken but obviously he'll be looking for a cheaper place if no one is interested.]

I do hate to be a bother, but I would appreciate it if someone who was present at the mansion could enlighten me as to what happened there. I have completed a brief overview of the oddities that have occurred since our arrival here, and I suspect whatever happened at the mansion should be part of this.
sailorgenerous: (Faaaaaabulous~)
[The video shows a stylishly decorated shop interior. Given the bolts of fabric neatly stacked and shelved in a corner, the sewing machine on the table, and the dress forms of human men and ladies and ponies, it's obvious this is a fashion shop. Rarity comes into view, smiling and dressed in a brand-new gown, simple by her standards but still fancy.]

Hello, fillies and gentlecolts, and welcome to the grand opening of the Carousel Boutique! For those of you that don't know, I'm a fashion designer - it is my special talent. Now that those awful nightmares have stopped, I've decided it's the perfect time to open the Traverse Town location of my boutique and offer my services to all of you! If anypony needs something to wear that they simply cannot find here - formalwear, or something not absolutely covered in belts and zippers - I would be more than happy to whip it up for you. I may need a little practice sewing for anypony who isn't actually a pony, but rest assured I will work to the best of my ability to give you something stylish and unique to wear.

I've also partnered with Bolin, who had the fantastic idea of making outfits for Spirits! [She pauses for a moment, then glances behind her.] Spike, dear, that's your cue.

[Oh, oops! Spike comes bouncing out from behind Rarity, proudly sporting a bright green bow tie. Rarity smiles at him and continues on.] We're starting out small, and the design will depend on the Spirit. If you'd like your Spirit to have an ensemble just as stylish as yours, do come by!
