[Text] What's in a name

Weird question.

How do you decide on a name for something?

[The name displayed on this post is simply "Not Riku." That's really helpful of you, kid.]

Are we talking pets or children or...? Because, I mean, pets could be named for what they're like! But... that same thing doesn't apply to children... You shouldn't name a baby "Snotty" even if that's what they are. [Right he should probably stop rambling.] So I guess there's different naming conventions depending on the situation.

[That label is kind of weird, but North decides to leave it for now.]

Usually I try to think of a few defining traits, or just play around until something fits.

-- I can't figure out how to write properly! Sorry!

As for names, it depends what you're naming, doesn't it? You could try naming things after your friends, but it still has to fit.

[Xion can guess who this is, and why he's sending the message.]

Trying to think of one for yourself?

[That does make a difference]

Depends what you're trying to name. I'm not great at this stuff, though...

I wish I could be more helpful, but I haven't ever had to name something before, well, before I received my Dream Eater.

Is that what is troubling you?

[And he suspects that he knows just what this is about. Still more awkward, but perhaps it can be mitigated.]

If you have a favorite piece of literature, or any sort of story whether historical or fictional, choosing the name of a character you admire or appreciate is a possibility.
