Garnet 01 }{ Video or Action

[A new woman's face make an appearance on the communicator. She is sitting at a cafe in Traverse Town's first district with it propped up against something on the table. She seems fairly comfortable with using it. Her dark hair falls over her shoulders and she brushes it back without thought. A cup of tea can be seen sitting in front of her and she sits before it with an elegant grace about her. She is in fashionable civilian clothes and she offers the broadcast a warm, if small, smile.]

Hello. My name is Setsuna Meioh. I've been filled in on what I believe are the basics of this place and what has been going on. Or at least that this is a very elaborate dream world. I'm afraid the Moogle could not give me much information on who was here or who would be a good person to speak with about the current problems that result in people being pulled into dreams that are not there own. Or why they are being attacked in them for that matter.

[She sighs, letting it turn into an action that cools her tea. She raises the cup to her lips, sips, and then sets it back down, she looks down at the tea with a pensive expression.]

I thought I was done worrying about being attacked in my dreams. I suppose my prediction that the peace would not last was accurate.

[She looks up. Trying to appear cool, calm, and collected. It's fairly successful except for the tiny bit of worry in her eyes.]

I'll be at this outdoors cafe if you would like to meet in person. I do prefer speaking that way over communication devices like this...but I can understand if you are shy to meet me. I only wish to have more information.

[The feed will end there. If persons are in the First District of Traverse Town feel free to sit and join her. The bag the moogle gave her rests on the table and obviously she hasn't made her Dream Eater yet. Perhaps you would like to give her some advice]

[Jeeves' opinion of the young lady is currently on the rise.]

Spinoza is one of my favored authors, miss, though Descartes must, of course be given credit as the first. [He nods to his own Descartes, his first Spirit.] It grieves me sorely that my library did not accompany me to this place. But one must content oneself with the available amenities. The world of Ponyville is equipped with a local library that contains many interesting volumes, though I have yet to come across anything that might be fall into the category of philosophical treatises.

That to one side, you are correct, miss. I have observed in my review of the communicator archives that persons who have arrived from various iterations of Earth are from time periods beyond my own. [There is the slightest downturn of his lips before he smooths out his expression.] The opportunity to learn is most enjoyable, but it is vexing to find myself out of place as well as out of time.

[Jeeves inclines his head demurely, though he's pleased by the compliment.] One does one's best, miss. An Englishman must carry on regardless of the trials placed before him. You appear to be handling your arrival here with considerably aplomb, as well.

Ponyville is one of the other worlds here, the native realm of Her Royal Highness, Princess Luna, Her Royal Highness, Princess Celestia, Ms. Pinkie Pie, and Ms. Rarity. [Listing off sure a ridiculous assortment of names is embarrassing, but so it went.] It may be accessed through the various portals about this town. I must caution that that particular realm has some transformative magic associated with it. You will find yourself in an equine or draconic form upon your arrival there.

Indeed not, miss. [Jeeves agrees.] It would seem a- [problem] -quality unique to Ponyville at this time. In reviewing the communicator archives, though, I have come across mentions of natives to these kinds of realities - connected worlds - transforming on a variety of worlds.

[He hopes the next to open isn't one of them.]

The other three worlds presently available, Traverse Town- [He gestures to the night around them.] - Twilight Town, and the Mother of Invention all allow one to keep their human form. The next great battle seems likely to occur in Ponyville, however. I was encouraged to 'find my hooves' by a number of individuals upon my arrival here that I might more readily assist in any conflicts that might arise.

I suppose I must extend the same advice should you wish to become involved. That is, of course, unnecessary should you desire to remain out of the fray.

Several signs that have hailed previous battles similar to its like, miss. Recurring dreams - it may seem odd, but sleep is still required in this realm and dreams and nightmares occur whilst in Morpheus' grasp. Dreams within dreams, if you will. They seem to focus on keys and the battle between light and dark. Some claim that these dreams are... troubling. Her Royal Highness, Princess Luna, is a natural guardian of dreams and has the ability to visit persons and dispel these nightmares, I'm given to understand. If you should ever desire her assistance. Should you not... it may be prudent to make a personal request to the effect that she leave you out of her nightly rounds. She is a most proactive mare when it comes to watching over the dreams of those within her reach.

[She's a busybody is what he's really saying.]

In any case, apart from the dreams, there have been odd occurrences within Ponyville: a day and night cycle began, which had not been present when the world first opened. Changes in the environment also seem to hail battles in the worlds.

And I am sorry to hear that you have been embroiled in conflicts in your native realm Ms. Meioh. That is most unfortunate for any young person.

[Jeeves cocked his head.]

You were born into battle, miss? Are there no others in your family more suitable to take up whatever hardships might plague you?

[Her father would seem to be very remiss in Jeeves' estimation.]

[Jeeves is beginning to worry that there is more truth in fairy tales than he could ever have imagined after just a few weeks in this place.]

The whole of the Earth is a very large place to protect, Ms. Meioh. I am glad you find yourself in better company than when you first started your mission. It is bracing to find oneself surrounded by comrades-in-arms.

[Sometimes the only thing one could take solace in during the Great War was the friendships forged in the trenches and under fire.]

I still would not wish it on a young lady or any other person. There is opportunity to relax in some capacity here, at least. The Nightmares are problematic, but they can be avoided, should you so choose, and the great battles are not frequent occurrences.

Might I inquire further, if it is not too bold, what this original assignment you took up was, though? Was it the defense of our planet by yourself? You must have some great power to manage such a feat.

[And he's very curious what that power might be.]

[Jeeves' eyes dart up and down what he can see of Setsuna. The implication of her words is that she is far older than she would appear to be. It would be rude to ask just how much older that might be.]

You are a guardian of time, then, miss? That is a most fantastic task. [He means it in several senses of that word.] You must have seen many lifetimes pass at such a post. To not abuse access to this door in your world would indicate a great strength of character on your own part.

[He doesn't mind granting the compliment. He has little reason to think she's lying at the moment and if she is, then so be it. He's flattered a sly woman who has some power and art.]

Your princess now must be a truly extraordinary young woman to be able to allow you leave from your post, though. Are you the only woman among the ranks of these soldiers?

[While all-female battalions are not something unheard of in Jeeves' time - the Navy Wrens come to mind from the Great War - ones expected to enter combat are unusual. He's only aware of the Russian's attempted Battalion of Death.]

That is most fascinating, Ms. Meioh. Perhaps it is some product of the unique traits of young women that make them ideal for the particular threats you might face? [Jeeves isn't certain what threats young women would be more inherently suited for beyond a shortage of persons to rear children or tend to the sick, but there would seem to something there if all soldiers are female.]

What are the consequences for one who breaks these taboos of time, though? I can imagine unintentionally altering the destinies of persons who are important to the continued survival of the planet and happiness of its inhabitants might be one.

[That does seem a harsh punishment, but compensation where taboos are involved typically is.]

Might I inquire, Ms. Meioh, if you are the guardian of time, then who would enforce this sentence on you were you to break such a rule?

[The way she says that...]

How did you come by this knowledge, Ms. Meioh? Is it something your queen informed you of? Or something you inherently know as the Guardian Time?

It is most fortunate she knew to give warning. [Jeeves leaves it at that. He has the good sense to back off his virtual interrogation of the young woman. She is being most gracious in answering, but he doesn't want to be impolite, nor her to be suspicious.]

If you will permit me a somewhat less dire topic, though: How is your tea? I have yet to enjoy a cup from the cafe here. There is a tea shop in the Fourth District that provides a wide variety of blends at favorable prices.

[Jeeves isn't one to let himself be entirely caught up in flattery, but he does appreciate her mention of his brewing talents without having seen them. He inclines his own head with a brief, smug smile.]

And I will have to turn my attention the beverage selection here at some point. Their food is acceptable, as well. Though, in truth, miss, I would prefer my own cooking if I had access to a regular kitchen. I prepared a great number of my employer's meals along with my own. It is a soothing exercise.

[And a familiar one that he misses in all the novelty of this place.]
