Garnet 01 }{ Video or Action
[A new woman's face make an appearance on the communicator. She is sitting at a cafe in Traverse Town's first district with it propped up against something on the table. She seems fairly comfortable with using it. Her dark hair falls over her shoulders and she brushes it back without thought. A cup of tea can be seen sitting in front of her and she sits before it with an elegant grace about her. She is in fashionable civilian clothes and she offers the broadcast a warm, if small, smile.]
Hello. My name is Setsuna Meioh. I've been filled in on what I believe are the basics of this place and what has been going on. Or at least that this is a very elaborate dream world. I'm afraid the Moogle could not give me much information on who was here or who would be a good person to speak with about the current problems that result in people being pulled into dreams that are not there own. Or why they are being attacked in them for that matter.
[She sighs, letting it turn into an action that cools her tea. She raises the cup to her lips, sips, and then sets it back down, she looks down at the tea with a pensive expression.]
I thought I was done worrying about being attacked in my dreams. I suppose my prediction that the peace would not last was accurate.
[She looks up. Trying to appear cool, calm, and collected. It's fairly successful except for the tiny bit of worry in her eyes.]
I'll be at this outdoors cafe if you would like to meet in person. I do prefer speaking that way over communication devices like this...but I can understand if you are shy to meet me. I only wish to have more information.
[The feed will end there. If persons are in the First District of Traverse Town feel free to sit and join her. The bag the moogle gave her rests on the table and obviously she hasn't made her Dream Eater yet. Perhaps you would like to give her some advice]

[action]
[He hopes the next to open isn't one of them.]
The other three worlds presently available, Traverse Town- [He gestures to the night around them.] - Twilight Town, and the Mother of Invention all allow one to keep their human form. The next great battle seems likely to occur in Ponyville, however. I was encouraged to 'find my hooves' by a number of individuals upon my arrival here that I might more readily assist in any conflicts that might arise.
I suppose I must extend the same advice should you wish to become involved. That is, of course, unnecessary should you desire to remain out of the fray.
[action]
Oh? And what makes these individuals certain that the next great battle will occur there? I take it these battles are more than just the normal Nightmares?
[It's probably obvious from her questioning that she will involve herself in this coming battle.]
I may not look it, but I have seen my fair share of conflict.
[action]
[She's a busybody is what he's really saying.]
In any case, apart from the dreams, there have been odd occurrences within Ponyville: a day and night cycle began, which had not been present when the world first opened. Changes in the environment also seem to hail battles in the worlds.
And I am sorry to hear that you have been embroiled in conflicts in your native realm Ms. Meioh. That is most unfortunate for any young person.
[action]
I see. It does seem to always come back to light and dark. Well thank you for preparing me for these aspects. I might speak with Princess Luna then.
[She looks down at her drink before lifting it and taking a sip. She can't let it get cold after all. She sets it down again and responds.]
I appreciate your sentiment. But it was something I was born into. I'm used to it by now.
[She could go into detail. About how this is something that has followed her through lifetimes and caused her a rather lonely existence at the gates of time. But she's never had to explain it before she she's not sure if this is the right opportunity for it.]
[action]
You were born into battle, miss? Are there no others in your family more suitable to take up whatever hardships might plague you?
[Her father would seem to be very remiss in Jeeves' estimation.]
[action]
I lost my family a long time ago as well and I am the only one capable of the special duty tasked to me. [She pauses and then smiles slightly.] But times have changed since the original assignment. I have a new family now and I do not have to be quite so alone any more. We work together now to face any threats and we all share the common goal of protecting our princess and the Earth from harm.
[She realized it must sound vague, but again she wasn't sure how to explain all of the details as her role as guardian of the doors to time and space. Not to mention the life of a sailor soldier who guards a special moon princess from the outer rim of the galaxy. To most people it would likely sound like a fairy tale.]
[action]
The whole of the Earth is a very large place to protect, Ms. Meioh. I am glad you find yourself in better company than when you first started your mission. It is bracing to find oneself surrounded by comrades-in-arms.
[Sometimes the only thing one could take solace in during the Great War was the friendships forged in the trenches and under fire.]
I still would not wish it on a young lady or any other person. There is opportunity to relax in some capacity here, at least. The Nightmares are problematic, but they can be avoided, should you so choose, and the great battles are not frequent occurrences.
Might I inquire further, if it is not too bold, what this original assignment you took up was, though? Was it the defense of our planet by yourself? You must have some great power to manage such a feat.
[And he's very curious what that power might be.]
[action]
[And yet such an important one in her opinion, mostly for the people that inhabit it. She has a feeling her princess would say something similar. Setsuna hesitates at his request. It is not that she has a secret identity to worry about as some might think, unlike Usagi and the others she does not have much in the way of family to worry about her safety as a soldier.
However, even she is aware of how strange her situation may sound to others. Girls given magical powers to protect the Sol System and Earth from invaders of another world? Her logical mind knows it sounds silly even though she lives it every day.
Still, the man is currently residing in a dream world and there is a giant floating bat named after a French philosopher hanging nearby. He's probably heard quite a lot of strange stories.]
It isn't too bold. I suppose I've been dancing around the subject because I am simply not used to talking about it so frankly. Or, at least, that the people I usually talk to on a regular basis are already involved in what I do.
[She pauses, brushing her long hair back again as a strand seems to keep falling past her ear as she moves.]
Originally I was posted by Queen Serenity at the Space-Time Door. There I was to stand watch and ensure that no one abused the laws of time travel and that no one would attempt to access it. This is a task I still perform, although it is no longer forbidden that I leave my post. I may also live out my normal life alongside the other senshi in the 21st century.
And, no, protecting the planet is not a task I bear alone. There are three other senshi who are posted on the outer rims to protect the planet from outside invaders, then there are the four inner guardians and the Princess and Prince themselves who also help in defense of earth. In a past existence the outer guard was kept separate from the Princess and her guardian soldiers...but that has all changed recently, in part because of the Princess and her ability to unite us all with her power.
[action]
You are a guardian of time, then, miss? That is a most fantastic task. [He means it in several senses of that word.] You must have seen many lifetimes pass at such a post. To not abuse access to this door in your world would indicate a great strength of character on your own part.
[He doesn't mind granting the compliment. He has little reason to think she's lying at the moment and if she is, then so be it. He's flattered a sly woman who has some power and art.]
Your princess now must be a truly extraordinary young woman to be able to allow you leave from your post, though. Are you the only woman among the ranks of these soldiers?
[action]
[She thinks of the three taboos of time travel. In the end she had broken all three of them, but at the same time she was still allowed to be reborn and resume her role as the guardian. Besides, she did not regret her actions in the least and it had helped things in the end.
She changes her expression into a small smile, nodding at his assessment of the princess.]
I am not actually. The other soldiers I mentioned are all women. I am not sure if requirement is the right word, but it's the best I can come up with to describe why we are all female. It is just how it has always been.
[action] cw: sexism
That is most fascinating, Ms. Meioh. Perhaps it is some product of the unique traits of young women that make them ideal for the particular threats you might face? [Jeeves isn't certain what threats young women would be more inherently suited for beyond a shortage of persons to rear children or tend to the sick, but there would seem to something there if all soldiers are female.]
What are the consequences for one who breaks these taboos of time, though? I can imagine unintentionally altering the destinies of persons who are important to the continued survival of the planet and happiness of its inhabitants might be one.
[action]
I did not interfere as often as you might think. Most of the taboos are simply to prevent chaos from happening and I am the one that is supposed to guard against it. However, there is one taboo that can result in death...and that is stopping time.
[action]
Might I inquire, Ms. Meioh, if you are the guardian of time, then who would enforce this sentence on you were you to break such a rule?
[action]
[So far she's only done it once under dire circumstances and that was enough.]
[action]
How did you come by this knowledge, Ms. Meioh? Is it something your queen informed you of? Or something you inherently know as the Guardian Time?
[action]
[She'd rather NOT say that some of it was later reinforced by experience. It wouldn't make for very polite conversation.]
[action]
If you will permit me a somewhat less dire topic, though: How is your tea? I have yet to enjoy a cup from the cafe here. There is a tea shop in the Fourth District that provides a wide variety of blends at favorable prices.
[action]
The tea is nice, though I do generally prefer to brew my own. I suppose a man such as yourself would know how to brew a good cup though.
[She smiles.]
I heard about that from a lovely young lady. She apparently helps there. I suppose I will have to check that cafe out next.
[action]
And I will have to turn my attention the beverage selection here at some point. Their food is acceptable, as well. Though, in truth, miss, I would prefer my own cooking if I had access to a regular kitchen. I prepared a great number of my employer's meals along with my own. It is a soothing exercise.
[And a familiar one that he misses in all the novelty of this place.]
[action]
[This places has kitchens right? Perhaps it's trouble finding ingredients or someone to loan him a kitchen to use.]
[action]
Nor should I wish to impose upon you for very much longer, miss. I would be happy to show you the safest routes about town if no one else has provided a guide in this matter, yet. There is a map developed by a gentleman named Agent York for Traverse Town that has identified key areas where Nightmares gather. It is available on the communicator.
[action]
[She can't offer much more in terms of advice, seeing as she is still so new.]
It's quite all right. You have been very pleasant company. [She pulls out the communicator again to look at it. She's figured out the basics of its operation and she doesn't think it will provide much of a challenge.] I believe I can figure out the functions of this device from here. I had a few others offer to come meet with me and I would hate to leave before doing so.
[She pauses and then adds.]
I appreciate the offer of an escort though.
[action]
And you're very welcome to call upon my services as an escort whenever you should like. I would consider it an honor. [His lips quirked up in the ghost of a smile.] Good day, miss.
Re: [action]
I will keep that in mind. You have a good day as well.
[She was pleased that so far her company had been nice. She hopes that continues.]
