[Of all the Freelancers here, North is probably the happiest to see the Mother of Invention. For all intents and purposes, it's home for him, and after a few months of technicolour monsters and other weird goings-on, it's nice to see something familiar, dream world or not. He spends some time on the bridge, before heading out into the ship, seeing all the familiar places. Mess hall's still intact, and it looks like the common room is as well, with it's lousy selection of books. The training floor hasn't changed, and it's nice to see that his name is still where it should be on the Leaderboard. As troublesome as it is, he is number five and takes a decent amount of pride in that. They don't spend a lot of time there, taking out the nightmares quickly before moving on. It still brings back a few unpleasant memories.

Theta's been pretty quiet throughout the whole journey, but he skates alongside North's head, equally glad for the familiarity. The last time either of them saw this place had been in a dream, so the, somewhat real thing is good to have, and North lets his hand trace the wall. He rounds a familiar corner, and heads to a familiar room.

His barrack is pretty much how he left it. Bed, table, locker, all the comforts of home. He sits down on the bed. Home sweet home. After a few moments, he turns on the communicator.]

I was just thinking that anyone exploring this place might want to avoid the barracks, or at least rooms 1115 and 1116. 1115's mine, and 1116 is my sister's. If she shows up here, I don't think she'd approve of anyone going through her stuff, dream world or not.

I guess I can actually give you a tour of my world now, if you want it? Unfortunately there's not a lot of places for ice cream.

Well, I can take it back if you don't want it.

[ Tiny discomfort? Carolina's not exactly very practiced anymore when it comes to casual small talk, and she hadn't exactly been one for casual hang-outs Back Then either. Arms fold. ]


What does Theta think of things?


[ The ship, more specifically than anything else. She'd probably intimidate the little AI if she asked him directly. ]

He's doing alright. It's kinda nice, being back somewhere familiar. He's still a bit nervous, but that's pretty typical. We're still working on it.

[Theta's there, but yeah, Carolina's always intimidated him.]

These other worlds are...different, compared to what we're used to, aren't they? [Prettier, for sure.]

Is he nervous about anything specific right now? [ She's not smiling (honest!). ]

[North lets out a laugh. Considering his struggles with York and Wash, it's kind of weird to be having this kind of banter with Carolina.]

I'll remember. It'll be more useful to trade munny and dream pieces anyway.

But they are different. It's kind of nice, being in a town again.

[He glances at Theta, who shrugs. He's not as bad as he was after all, but Carolina doesn't need to know that.]

Not really, just the usual. Granted this place is familiar, so it's helping.

[Carolian and Tex are tied, at least until they learn that Tex isn't as mean as she seems, where Carolina seems to get meaner. South's the scariest though.]

[North can't see her manage the most lukewarm of smiles, but it's still there beneath her helmet. It's been too long since she managed a successful quip that hadn't completely fallen flat -- or had anyone to trade them with, for that matter..]

[She can see the use for munny, certainly, but she hasn't been particularly diligent about collecting up dream pieces thus far.] What sort of trades have you been been making for those?

I suppose so. We didn't really get to visit too many normal places for shore leave, either, did we?

[ There's a nod of understanding about familiarity. [ I'm glad it's been helpful for someone, at least.

[It takes a moment for Xion to respond. She'd like to explore, and it would be nice to have North guide her around, but she's seen the effects it's been having on some of the others. In fact, she's a little concerned for North.]

You're okay to do that?

Yeah, I'm totally fine.

[There's a pause as he figures out why she would ask that.]

I...I don't have the same memories as Wash and York, so this place is still pretty much home. It's safe, aside from some Nightmares.

[There's a little bit of relief when he confirms that.]

I see. The others seemed to be having so much difficulty that I was wondering. Are they feeling better now?

I'd like to look around, and we can bring ice cream with us.

[North looks a little down at that.]

I'm really not sure. I think it's still bothering them.

But I'll meet you on the bridge then. I'll warn you that it's not as nice as Twilight Town, and there's not a whole lot to see.

[Xion offers a sympathetic look. She'd be shaken if they found The World That Never Was.]

I hope they feel better soon.

That's okay--I'd still like to see it. I'll get the ice cream and be there soon.

Yeah, me to.

I'm looking forward to it.

[After she leaves he takes one last look around his room and heads for the bridge. It takes a bit of time, and one of their stops is going to be the weapon's locker for sure.

But he's waiting there when she arrives.]

[Xion arrives not long after him, ice cream bars in hand and Manda and Axel at her side.]

Here. Think we can eat while we walk around?

[North gives a wave and steps up from where he was leaning.]

Probably not. There's not a whole lot of space in the hallways, so if nightmares attacked, I don't know if the ice cream would survive.

[And that would just be a waste in his mind.]

We'll just have to eat fast.

Is this where you were used to living? I'm glad that you've found a piece of your home.

[And, from the sounds of it, he's glad that it feels like home to North.]

I do hope that we can meet soon, once you're done exploring.

Yeah, it is. Well, the main base anyway. There were a few others.

[North's pretty glad about it as well. He hadn't realized he was homesick.]

Sure thing. I'm almost done here, really. I just want to visit the weapons locker.

Are you hoping for ammunition, different guns, or both?

[Maybe he could go over and see what it was like. Even if the technology was different, it would be interesting to examine it. Surely Even would want to go.]

Both really. I need a short range weapon since it's hard to use my sniper rifle in close combat.

Not to mention stock up on ammunition.

[North would be happy to show him around.]

Could I trouble you for a tour at some point? It looks quite interesting.

[He would love to see what North's home was like, but any new world seems to hold some risk. Between the two of them, they would be able to handle anything that came up, he was sure.]

Definitely. Whenever you want, just let me know and I'll show you around.

I can't say it's that interesting, but there are a few things to see at least.
