003 [Accidental Video]
[Eraqus's communicator switches on without his doing...in this case, it looks like Kura accidentally turned it on while lifting it up with his tail. Kura peers under the communicator, then temporarily scampers out of sight of it.]
Yaza?
[Kura's not the only one that appears to be searching. Eraqus is looking around the small room he's taken up at Sunset Hill, with Gengo and Chuza also glancing around in confusion.]
Yaza!
[Still nothing. Eraqus stops, looking frustrated.]
Honestly...what good is it to have a Spirit that immediately goes missing?
[He sighs, and walks out of view of the communicator, which is still broadcasting. As soon as he is out of view, a Toximander's head can be seen slowly emerging out of the floor. The Dream Eater blinks in the direction that Eraqus went, looks around a bit, then dives back into the floor.]

[He waits as Eraqus leaves, and sure enough, the wayward lizard pokes its head out of the floor and looks at the communicator. Okay, so maybe it's a horror-comedy. Wash just shrugs and figures he might as well go with it.]
So you're Yaza, huh.

Hey. Fang. Come make friends.
[Well that certainly wakes the bat up. Fang flaps up and lands in front of the communicator, catching sight of the toximander and squeaking happily. Ooh, he hasn't seen you before! Hi! They should totally be friends!]

[From offscreen, footsteps and Eraqus's voice can be heard:]
Has he appeared?
[Yaza perks up at the voice, then hurriedly snatches up the communicator in his mouth and drags it back down under the floor. For a long while, there's absolutely nothing to see but blackness, with a bit of purple shadow-y waves occasionally on the edges of the screen. From somewhere above there's Eraqus's muffled voice, but it's hard to hear what he's saying.]

Can you at least put the communicator back up top?
no subject
--op!
[Eraqus grabs up the communicator and presses his hand to the floor, but Yaza's gone now.]
It took this thing!
no subject
Pretty sure it's avoiding you. It grabbed the communicator and bolted when it heard you coming. Any idea why?
no subject
I'm sure I don't know. I only just made it, after all. [It seems that he's thinking about something, though.]

[He has to admit, that idea has some merit. He turns back to his Meow Wow.]
Perhaps...
Chuza? I'd like you to try and talk with Yaza, here.
[Chuza waddles over, sniffing around for some sign of the Toximander. When she doesn't spot it right away, she just turns around in the middle of the floor and rolls over. Eraqus, realizing that Yaza probably won't show with him prominent, moves over to the far corner of the room and keeps quiet.]
[Eventually, Yaza does emerge...directly under Chuza. The Meow Wow doesn't even seem to notice that it's now being propped up by a confused Toximander's head. Yaza glances around, but upon not seeing anyone, then vanishes again.]
[In the corner, Eraqus groans quietly.]

[After a few seconds, he calms down and straightens up again, letting his hand drop, though he's still grinning.]
You should probably try your hebby repp instead.
no subject
That may or may not be better...
[He glances back towards the Hebby Repp, but the Spirit's already taken notice that he's being talked about. It scrambles down to the floor and begins running in circles, chittering at where it's guessing the Toximander is hiding. When there's no reply for a bit, Kura stamps his foot on the ground, chattering a bit louder and sounding impatient.]
no subject
Look, just put the communicator on the floor. It already likes talking to Fang.
no subject
[Eraqus gives an 'I can't believe I'm doing this' look but eventually complies, taking the communicator and setting it on the ground.]
If it tries to steal this device again, however, I'm not trying this once more.
[Once left, he again presses himself out of sight of the middle of the room, although he looks a little more exasperated.]
[There is a long pause of nothing before Yaza again sticks his head halfway out of the floor, checking to see who is nearby.]
no subject
[Fang squeaks happily as Yaza comes back into view, needing no prompting to start talking with him again. Hi! Where was that really weird dark place you went? He'd never been there before! Do you live there?]
[Wash nudges the bat anyway, and Fang gets back on topic. Oh, right! The people want to know why you're being shy. He thinks your person's actually pretty nice! You know, when your person isn't upset at his person. That happened once, but it's okay now! Why don't you go say hi to your person?]
no subject
[Yaza makes some squeaky noises while flicking his tongue out over and over. Hello. Yes I love there, and also sometimes outside. The person is nice, but he is a lot of light and I am a lot of darkness so I thought I should hide. Maybe he won't be happy although he does give me chocolate.]

[Yaza begins to wander away from the communicator a bit, looking around cautiously. Eraqus finally steps back more into view, only to find the Toximander remaining above ground. He ventures forward.]
Yaza? Are you going to stay now?
[Maybe...Yaza wriggles backwards a bit and makes a shadow under him on the ground, but doesn't disappear into it just yet.]
no subject
no subject
You shouldn't stay underground, Yaza.
[Yaza remains stationary while Eraqus reaches out a hand to pet him. Eventually, he gets close enough so that he can touch his head. Yaza makes a purring sound, gives him a big sloppy lizard lick with his tongue, then decides that's enough for now and dives back into the floor.]
[Eraqus sighs.] Well...it's some progress.
no subject
Well, it's better than nothing.
[Fang, meanwhile, squeaks at the communicator. Wait! Come back! You were doing so well!]
no subject
Not much, but it’s something. It looks like this will take some time.
[He glances down towards the floor, where Yaza is hiding for now.] Although since interaction with other Spirits seemed to help, perhaps some more in-person interaction is in order.
no subject
It looks like he likes Fang. If you ever want him to help, let me know and I'll send him over.
