003 [Accidental Video]

[Eraqus's communicator switches on without his doing...in this case, it looks like Kura accidentally turned it on while lifting it up with his tail. Kura peers under the communicator, then temporarily scampers out of sight of it.]

Yaza?

[Kura's not the only one that appears to be searching. Eraqus is looking around the small room he's taken up at Sunset Hill, with Gengo and Chuza also glancing around in confusion.]

Yaza!

[Still nothing. Eraqus stops, looking frustrated.]

Honestly...what good is it to have a Spirit that immediately goes missing?

[He sighs, and walks out of view of the communicator, which is still broadcasting. As soon as he is out of view, a Toximander's head can be seen slowly emerging out of the floor. The Dream Eater blinks in the direction that Eraqus went, looks around a bit, then dives back into the floor.]

[Kura's not terribly pleased about being ignored. He chatters more at the floor before jumping back onto the desk in a huff.]

[Eraqus gives an 'I can't believe I'm doing this' look but eventually complies, taking the communicator and setting it on the ground.]

If it tries to steal this device again, however, I'm not trying this once more.

[Once left, he again presses himself out of sight of the middle of the room, although he looks a little more exasperated.]

[There is a long pause of nothing before Yaza again sticks his head halfway out of the floor, checking to see who is nearby.]

Fair enough. [Wash is probably enjoying this far more than he should, but hey, you can't blame him; it is pretty dang funny.]

[Fang squeaks happily as Yaza comes back into view, needing no prompting to start talking with him again. Hi! Where was that really weird dark place you went? He'd never been there before! Do you live there?]

[Wash nudges the bat anyway, and Fang gets back on topic. Oh, right! The people want to know why you're being shy. He thinks your person's actually pretty nice! You know, when your person isn't upset at his person. That happened once, but it's okay now! Why don't you go say hi to your person?]

[And once Yaza feels more secure that he's not being watched (although he is being listened in on), he crawls out more and even rolls over onto his back while 'responding' to Fang.]

[Yaza makes some squeaky noises while flicking his tongue out over and over. Hello. Yes I love there, and also sometimes outside. The person is nice, but he is a lot of light and I am a lot of darkness so I thought I should hide. Maybe he won't be happy although he does give me chocolate.]

[Ohhhhhh, that makes sense! And if he gives you chocolate it totally means he likes you! You should go say thank you! Fang's pretty sure your person wants to talk to you too, so you should stick around above the floor for a little while. You can also make friends with the other Spirits there! It'll be fun!]

[Maybe I can for a little bit but I don't know, maybe it will be fun but maybe the person won't be happy. I will try it and I will be careful.]

[Yaza begins to wander away from the communicator a bit, looking around cautiously. Eraqus finally steps back more into view, only to find the Toximander remaining above ground. He ventures forward.]

Yaza? Are you going to stay now?

[Maybe...Yaza wriggles backwards a bit and makes a shadow under him on the ground, but doesn't disappear into it just yet.]

[Yes you should try it! Good luck! Fang straightens up a bit and flaps encouragingly. Wash just stays quiet, raising an eyebrow as the lizard stays aboveground. Whatever Fang's been saying, it looks like it's working.]

[Eraqus continues to edge forward...he doesn't want to let the Spirit get away again, but isn't sure what might spook it back into the ground. Yaza is obviously just trying to play it cool.]

You shouldn't stay underground, Yaza.

[Yaza remains stationary while Eraqus reaches out a hand to pet him. Eventually, he gets close enough so that he can touch his head. Yaza makes a purring sound, gives him a big sloppy lizard lick with his tongue, then decides that's enough for now and dives back into the floor.]

[Eraqus sighs.] Well...it's some progress.

[The other eyebrow goes up to join the first. Wash can't imagine that getting licked by a lizard is the nicest of sensations.]

Well, it's better than nothing.

[Fang, meanwhile, squeaks at the communicator. Wait! Come back! You were doing so well!]

[Iiiit’s not the greatest feeling. In fact, it’s a little bit slimy, and his fingers feel a bit numb. Do Toximanders have poison abilities, too? He shakes his hand out.]

Not much, but it’s something. It looks like this will take some time.

[He glances down towards the floor, where Yaza is hiding for now.] Although since interaction with other Spirits seemed to help, perhaps some more in-person interaction is in order.

[As hilarious as the asocial Spirit is, Wash knows just how many problems an unreliable teammate can cause in battle. He shrugs.]

It looks like he likes Fang. If you ever want him to help, let me know and I'll send him over.

[That does give Eraqus some worry, along with the darkness stuff. And if this kind of Dream Eater is adept at using poison...maybe obtaining one with a lot of healing skill is next on the list.]

All right. I will give him some time, and see if he improves in the future.
