[The Doctor's on the comms looking absolutely exhausted. He was sleeping poorly last week. This week? No. It's been awful. He tries to force some cheer and a smile into the video. He's trying to hard though.]

So! Bit more settled here, that's all well and good. Could use a bit of an income of sorts though. That's new. Kind of weird. I figured I'd offer out my services at fixing things. Promise, I won't break it! [Probably. He might even try to make it better! That's totally okay, right?] Whatever it is you have, I'm sure I can put it back together.

I'm not looking to charge anything in particular, whether it's a little bit of munny or something for the Dream Eaters, it's something that'll help out my friends and I. The offer is always on the table, if ever anyone needs the help.

[He rubs at his eyes. He is so very done with these dreams.]

I would certainly appreciate a night or several of dreamlessness. This really weighs down on a person after a bit. Is this the type of dream cycle you were talking about?

[Clearly he should have asked more about that, but at the time it didn't seem all THAT important. His bad. He understands her calling it "inconvenient" now.]

Yes. The themes vary, but this one is roughly as bad as the last. That was a more generalized conflict, where this seems focused on themes of light and darkness.

I'm not sure if it's better that there's something causing the dreams to be like this, or if I'd prefer it being a construct of my own mind. [He sighs. It's strange talking about. He hasn't even said anything to Donna or Jenny.] They're both equally bad, I suppose.

It is not a force I have been able to fully combat. Were all things as they ought to be, I could stop the dreams from recurring at all; as it is, I must return every night to arrest them.

I see... I wouldn't want to cause too much trouble for you, however a night of aid here and there would be fantastic. I'd really owe you one.

[If this goes on too much longer, he might just lose it.]

[His relief shows more than he'd normally like, but he's too tired to care.] I really appreciate it. How does the whole thing work, anyway?

I typically enter nightmares to guide ponies into confronting and overcoming their fears, but in this case they are caused by an outside source and one cannot simply overcome them through introspection. It has proven far more expedient to simply do away with them as quickly as possible, though I still do provide counsel where I think it needed.

[He makes a face at the mention of magic, but it's common practice in this universe. He'll get over it at some point.]

Ah, so you'll be witness of them. [He doesn't exactly like the sound of that prospect, but hell, he's getting desperate.] I'd rather skip on the counseling. [He does not want to deal with his "identity issues" anytime soon, thanks.]

A fair request. [And to be completely honest, she wasn't really offering. She doesn't even know how bad his nightmares are yet, and she certainly doesn't know him well enough to help without diverting her attention unnecessarily from the others.]

I do witness them, yes, but that is not my primary purpose. I can end them before anything untoward happens.

Untoward. Right. [If you ask him, the whole damn things have been "untoward," but maybe he's just overly bitter at this point.] Do you do this for people a lot? I'm sure you've seen a... "unique" variety with all the kinds of people that are here. [He's honestly hoping there's a lot more destruction in other people's dreams.]

I have been doing it for my subjects for millenia.

Some types of dreams simply happen. 'Tis quite natural.

[She thinks they're talking about something completely different now.]

[Wait is she suggesting-- His face goes blank. No no. Oh god. She's going to be in for a real surprise if she's expecting that and getting what's really in his head.]

Ah. [He's not sure how to tell her otherwise.] Right. Of course. [So he doesn't.]

[Well, that IS usually people's first question. She can't count the number of ponies that have asked her about such...matters.

But then, she is very old. She likely won't be shocked by too much.]

Observation is not my goal anyhow. And, of course, all dreams are confidential. [Unless they reveal a real-world threat, of course, but that should go without saying.]

I would hope they'd be confidential. [He doesn't really care what most people think about him, but Donna and Jenny...]

Is there any sort of... pre-sleeping type of thing I should worry about or...?

[He's honestly just not sure HOW Luna's aid is going to go down.]
