Theta, I'm contacting you privately. I hoped to discuss North's current status to you, in the hopes that we can in some way facilitate his and the others' emotional recovery. What is your assess...how do you think North is feeling, and how are you feeling? I hope you're both well.

Church, I'm contacting you on a private channel. I wished to inform you that Agent Washington is becoming increasingly more stable, though I cannot of course guarantee his behavior around you. York spoke with him about you, and I believe he understands that you do not intend to reveal things he would rather not discuss. I also wished to assure myself that you are present and well as we have not seen each other recently.

How are the Freelancers all doing?

And you, I did. Seemed fitting after remembering a conversation I had with her.

York informed Agent North about the collapse of project freelancer and he took it as well as any well-adjusted individual might. York is working up to an emotional collapse, and I may be forced to recruit outside help so that he does not act foolishly. Agent Washington's emotional state is well within acceptable expectations...for now.

Which conversation would lead to that appellation?

... Oh.

Nothing you would know about, Delta. It was after... [Shutting up.] It doesn't matter.

[He can't help the shudder as the memory replays. "You made me to take on all the things you can't handle. Just like you always have." In this Allison, it included combat too. Even if she wasn't made the same way.]

I apologize for causing you distress, brother.

[Delta knows that objectively, he has little capability for small talk. He and York had gotten better at it, but that was all inside York's head, where they understood each other inside and out. He never meant to cause anyone pain.]

There are things I can't talk about, brother. And things bordering on them.

And then there's someone telling you that she exists just because you made her because you can't take care of things yourself.

I am afraid I am not the best individual to discuss that.

[Delta starts to feel a twinge of guilt. It was true that Epsilon had failed to function on his own, with his own partner. And yet, Church took on a human quality of guilt for things over which he had no control.]

However, Agent Texas did not exhibit any signs of pain or regret when she went to rescue the Alpha. Merely determination.

I know. I don't have anyone for that. I don't need it.

[Pauses.] Not the same Tex, so it might not be the same. And I'm not the Alpha.

[Delta resists the urge to argue this with Church; if and when he finds someone he thinks Church might be able to speak with, he will advise him then.]

Possibly.

[Delta hesitates for a long moment. There's no good time to make the inquiry he wishes to make, but he needs to know this.]

In the interests of maintaining York's ability to function at peak condition, I would like to ask if you can answer a question for me. Would the matters which you cannot discuss harm York, were they to come out?

I believe so.

I see. Thank you for that information.

[It's good to know, if worrying on a personal level. Delta will have to refrain from sharing this information with York if at all possible.]

I am speaking with Theta as well. It has occurred to me that if North could be persuaded to...leave him with you, as York did with me previously, we could spend time together. If that is an idea you would entertain.

I don't know if that's such a good idea. [He's uneasy. Time on his own with Allison, as well as a few close calls have him nervous about this place. Being alone with his memories and a dream eater... Enlightening to say the least.] I can't protect either of you like that. Allison has enough to deal with with me.

If you would be uncomfortable with the responsibility, that's understandable. If we did choose to meet, I would suggest somewhere free from dream eater activity, for example the central plaza of the fourth district.

I guess that could work, brother. If your hosts wouldn't object...

I will attempt to find out if it's feasible, in that case.
