Third Shock [Mother of Invention, Voice/Action]

[Seems someone's made her way over to the new world. With all the trepidation about it and the general feeling of unease that it exudes, Asami's being careful - both her Spirits are poking around in the background, although her pair are more behaved than the majority of the ones she's met. She's looking around with a focused expression; clearly, she's on a mission.]

Considering how many of you guys from this world use guns, where do you get them here?

[Damn right she wants one. Two, actually - one to take apart, one to use.]

[Oh North, one day you'll learn just how responsible she can be with a weapon. But for now Asami just nods at his go-ahead.]

I'll wait for you here - whatever's lurking around here, I don't want to take it on by myself.

[brodakota]

I'll be right there, then. I assume you're on the bridge.

[motorvation]

[She turns the communicator around to show her position; there are no Nightmares in the room, but it sure looks like a control center.]

If this is what you call the bridge, then I am. I'll keep an eye out for you.

[brodakota]

Yup, that's the bridge alright. I'll be there shortly.

[True to his word, North appears in a few minutes. Slightly out of breath. Stupid nightmares.]

Hey. You the one looking for a gun?

[motorvation]

[She turns to face the new arrival with a smile; she'll also resist making a comment about how he could miss the fact that she has all that hair when no one else does. Let's be professional, okay?]

Asami Sato. I take it this place is your home? And what should I call you?

[brodakota]

[It was simply a formality. He figured he should double check.]

Yeah, this is the place. You can call me North. Most people do.

[motorvation]

[No harm in double checking, after all. And she nods at the name.]

All right, North. So where are we going to find a firearm?

[brodakota]

Weapons locker, but it's a bit of a ways from here.

You have a way to fight through nightmares, right?

[motorvation]

Two of them, actually. Them, [and she nods to her two Spirits, who were bouncing around together in the corner but are now coming over to say hello to the new arrival] and this. [And she holds up her stun glove. It's quite effective - just not at a distance.]

[brodakota]

[North nods at the spirits and his own go to say hello as well. Because new friends are the best.]

Good to hear. Although, can I ask what that is?

[motorvation]

[Yes they are. Asami's aren't as excitable as many of the others around, but they do still enjoy meeting new people and Spirits and getting to know them. Yifan immediately begins chirping at the newcomers while Nezha starts hopping around them, inspecting them from all sides.]

My stun glove. See? [She hits the little switch to deactivate the electricity, then pulls it off her hand and holds it up for better inspection, pointing out the parts.] It has a small rechargeable power pack, and on the palm is a disc that channels the bolt through it into the target. The only problem is I have to actually touch someone in order to shock them - I'm a good fighter, but I only trained against humans. These Nightmares don't respond as well to my fighting style as I'd like.

[brodakota]

[Cactus preens a bit since he likes attention, before trying to get into a game of tag.]

That's pretty impressive. [And North is being honest.] Did you make it all yourself?

[He knows the feeling about Nightmares and close combat.] And that's why you want a firearm? So that you can have a bit more range?

[motorvation]

[Tag?! Yifan is a lady, thank you. She yeowls and jumps away, Nezha jumping in instead and bouncing in front of the other Pricklemane. Generally Yifan is more outgoing, but Nezha is more likely to play.]

[Asami lets them get on with it as she slides the glove back on and activates it once more - no use in being without a defense in a hostile environment.] I didn't invent it - my father did. [There's a shadow that passes over her face, but she chases it away quickly.] I can take it apart and repair it, though, and if I can find or make the parts I can make more. My spare's serving as a diagram back at the Shop right now. But yeah, that's why I want a firearm, or anything that can get me a longer attack radius - the only things I've ever fought against were other humans, and that's what my training is based on. Nightmares are a lot of times so different from humans that it's impossible to use the same moves and holds on them.

[She's been surviving, obviously, but she can tell the monsters are likely to only get worse from here on out.]

[brodakota]

[Cactus looks a little put out until Nezha decides to play. How could any spirit not like tag? It just didn't seem possible.

North catches the shadow but doesn't comment. After all, they've only just met.]

I know that feeling, it's pretty similar for me. I tend to rely on my spirits most of the time.

Still, we can go get you one. Just keep in mind that the ammo's limited here, and when you run out you have to get it from the moogles, and that's expensive.

You might be able to practice with paint pellets if I can find some of them.

[motorvation]

[Yifan is fussy like that. Yifan is the Spirit version of Rarity, after all. Nezha is more like Applejack. And Asami lets out a silent sigh of relief when North doesn't ask - it's just a touchy subject. Maybe later, okay? She nods at his suggestions, flexing her fingers to make sure the glove sits right on her hand.]

I'm fine with that - and it's possible I may be able to make more ammunition after I get my hands on some. If not me, Tony can probably do it.

[Because apparently Tony can do everything.]

I'll take what I can get in the meantime.

[brodakota]

It would make things easier. I know I would use it.

[When your primary and secondary weapons require it after all.]

Well, let's go then. And be on your guard. That invisible thing is still around.

[motorvation]

[This is why she's glad she's inherited her father's technical skill, even if she's not quite at the same level of "mad genius" with it though give it time. It makes getting what she wants, or fixing what she needs, so much easier.]

[She nods, and gives a half-second shrill whistle to her Spirits, who break up their games and inspections to run to her side.] Right. Let's get going.

[brodakota]

Follow me.

[And he heads off down the hallway. Normally it would be ladies first but with whatever's wandering around, North doesn't want to take any chances.

It shouldn't take them long to get down there.]
