Second Report - Necessity Is The...
[ The communicator clicks on, revealing the sunlit decore of Twilight Town. Sunset Hill, specifically, for those familiar with the location.
What should also be familiar is the statue in view of the camera. Not so familiar? The portal set at the base, the glow pulsing brightly. Invitingly, even. A pricklemane bounces towards it, then stops, tilting its head from left to right and waggling its ears in a show of interest. ]
This wasn't here when I passed by this morning. But it looks like the wait for something new to happen is over.
[ After 10 seconds or so of focus, the camera swings around until the firm frown of Lin Beifong is visible. ]
We don't know what might be through here, and securing a safe point on the other side is a priority. I plan on crossing over shortly. Anyone in Twilight Town is welcome to join me, but I recommend being ready for combat.
[ooc: this post is action/prose friendly! feel free to reply to Lin, or go ahead and do your own thing in a seperate thread. :D ]

Good. Once you're here, I think we'll have enough for an initial scouting party.
-> [Action]
[And you get a salute before the message cuts out. A couple minutes later, he's there in person.
He doesn't know what Nightmares are available in the new world, but at least he'll be able to give some info once he does know which ones are there.]
Whenever everyone's ready, so am I.
[Confident, him? Of course. At least until he get knocked down a peg or two.]
-> [Action]
There's a faint snort at his declaration, but she seems more amused than annoyed. For now. Just don't get too cocky, kid.]
Were you present the last time one of these popped up?
Re: -> [Action]
[Sora held out his hand and summoned his Keyblade.]
The Keyhole can be opened or sealed with this. Last time, it opened right away. This time, it waited a few days.
[And he's a little bothered by the discrepancy.]

So, you're from the same world as Master Eraqus. [He'd mentioned swords like that. Hnn.] How long have you had one?
[ She can see he's bothered. She's not certain she understands why. Yet. ]
Was the use of that sword the only thing that triggered the portal opening?

[And then there's the fact that he's carrying the heart of another keybearer around with him and has been for a bit over ten years...
As to his concern, he'll try to explain as best he can if she asks.]
Normally. This time it the Keyblade wouldn't even react to the Keyhole until there were three people there. That was a couple days ago, though. I don't know why it waited to open up.

[ Her stern expression turns thoughtful as he listens. ]
[Hnn. She hates to speculate without solid proof.] Perhaps it was waiting for something. Three, you said? How many were present when the first keyhole was open?
no subject
Her speculation isn't too far off, though. It did seem to have been waiting.] When the first one appeared a lot of us showed up to check it out, but I don't know if that effected opening it. It probably didn't, though. As soon as it appeared, it was clearly visible. This one was just a vaguely keyhole shaped glow until there were three people there.

Hmmm. It's worth not dismissing outright, I think. We may not be able to establish a pattern with the first keyhole, but we may with this one, and those that follow. Who else was with you to form the three needed?

[In a nutshell, he didn't actually have a master until he met Yen Sid, which he's already mentioned to Eraqus.]
Lea and Wash were there.

[Magic she can handle, she's a bender after all. But a weapon that picks its wielder?
..She'll have to ask Eraqus about that.]
I don't believe I've personally met Lea [watched Even explode in hilarious rage because of being linked to him on the shipping wall, yes, but that's not really an introduction] but I am familiar with Agent Washington. Were they also present when the previous keyhole opened?
no subject
Not that the concept of choosy weapons had been foreign to Sora, but he'd never thought he would see it outside of fiction.]
He's... quite a character sometimes. [Yes, Sora had seen that too. While being amused at someone else's discomfort wasn't really very nice, it couldn't be helped sometimes and Even tended to make an easy target of himself.] Wash was there for the first one, but Lea wasn't.

[If you had to be handpicked by a weapon of unusual properties typically reserved for a super secret society, there's likely a great deal more to be told than they have time for right now.
Lin plans to make time later.]
I'll take your word for it. [She hadn't seen much of that scienterrorist recently. Hopefully that wasn't a bad thing.] ..Interesting. Something to keep in mind for the next time around. Let's hope it won't be as long a wait as the previous occasion.

[Oh there's so much to it. Sadly, Sora doesn't have all the details and he's not sure he fully understands what he does know.]
I don't -think- he's evil, but he's really not a nice guy... [And let's not even get started on the replica thing. Sometimes Sora tthinks it might have been a bad idea to ask Namine what had happened in CO...] Iguess we'll see.
