unrecovered: (Let me think about that one)

Message 06. Lighting Fires

Everyone's been talking about finding the keyhole or the pieces of the keyhole or whatever. Here's my question: has anyone actually started looking yet?

[Oh look, he disapproves of all of you. Yep, still Tuesday.]

[Sora stops. He's only partway down the path when Wash tells him to go back. As abrasive as he finds the guy to be sometimes, he also knows he wouldn't be asking him to go back with out a good reason.

Possibly, it's a good thing he had replied to Wash's post, though he'd been thinking of ignoring it. Getting back to the tower, he sees the glowing.

Naturally, his Keyblade responds to it, appearing of its own accord. How had he overlooked this? Besides sleep deprivation? Off screen, Bruce chatters in a tone of 'I knew that'. Sora waves him off and approaches the mini clock tower.
]

Is this all of door number two or only part of it?

[He's thinking out loud here...]

[No matter how close Sora gets to the statue, the glow never actually resolves into a keyhole - it simply remains a glow. Attempting to use his Keyblade on it won't have any effect.]

I don't know. But it looks like it is. The why and how both probably have something to with whoever or whatever brought us here.

[He thinks a moment. If the Keyhole is in pieces, how are they supposed to get it together so they can open it? Would it be anywhere near possible for him to take this piece with him?

Maybe they'll worry about that once they find the others.

At least now we know what to look for.

[Lea was wandering Sunset Terrace when he caught the tail end of this discussion on the network; he heads over to sunset hill. Maybe they can figure out how to take the keyhole piece somewhere if they've got two keybearers working on it.]

Hey, Sora. What'd you find?

[Sora jumps a little when Lea speaks up. He'd been a little too caught up in his thoughts regarding the fragment of a Keyhole and his Spirits hadn't alerted him. In Bruce's case, it's obvious why. On the other hand, the as yet unnamed cat really doesn't have a excuse... unless he's just as much of an asshole as Bruce...

Being a bit sleep deprived probably doesn't help Sora's case much either. To answer the question...
]

I think it's a piece of the Keyhole. But this is really bizarre. I've never heard of Keyhole being broken into pieces.

[At Lea's arrival, the glow on the statue brightens a bit and the outline sharpens. It's still not a defined keyhole, but it's much closer.]

Looks like it still needs something.

[It doesn't look like a piece to him, though; it's a full outline. Lea calls his keyblade up; maybe with two of them here they can do something.]

[It's worth a try. The worst that can happen, Sora figures, is a no sell. He raises his own Keyblade. Maybe the dreams weren't hinting at the Keyhole being in pieces. Maybe they were hinting that a group effort was needed.

If not, then they still had something to figure out. Sora raised his own Keyblade to point at the Keyhole, the teeth of it facing the ground.
]

I guess we'll find out what it needs it a moment.

Nothing happens.
eternalfrolicbond: (I mean...well...)

[personal profile] eternalfrolicbond 2013-05-07 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Think the nosy armor guy is still watching? Maybe we just need more people...or more keyblades.

[Lea turns to his communicator.]

Hey, are you still there?

[personal profile] dork_of_keys 2013-05-07 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
[There are a number of things Sora could comment on here. Lea's hypocrisy, the accuracy of his statement, the fact that not all the armored guys are annoying, Wash being an easy target sometimes... although for that last one, Sora doesn't actively pick on Wash when the opportunities arise. Partly, it's because the man obviously catches enough of that crap as is and partly it's because he has a short temper and a gun.]

Huh, it appeared when I got here. It got clearer when Lea got here. We both have Keyblades...

[The wheels are turning. It seems possible they may need to get more Keybearers here.]
eternalfrolicbond: (I mean...well...)

[personal profile] eternalfrolicbond 2013-05-07 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lea winces; you totally weren't meant to hear that, Wash.]

Sorry, Wash. Would you come up here so we can see if having three people makes this thing work? Might need another keybearer, but maybe not.

[At Wash's arrival, the keyhole glows brightly. When the light dies down a bit, the keyhole's outline is sharp - it's obvious that this is the real thing.]

[Both Sora and Lea will find their Keyblades reacting to the keyhole now.]

[personal profile] dork_of_keys 2013-05-08 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Well then. Sora almost lets out a small laugh at the fact that three people present does it. It's familiar, though it also makes him sort of miss Donald and Goofy.]

Probably should have expected that.

[He raises his Keyblade again, satisfied that it'ss responding to the Keyhole now. What world was waiting for them this time?]
eternalfrolicbond: (keyblade in hand)

[personal profile] eternalfrolicbond 2013-05-08 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Lea raises his keyblade as well; it seems to want to do it, without him needing to tell it anything. A beam of light shoots from the keyblade stragith into the keyhole.]

Three's the magic number.

[With a bright flash of light and an audible click, the keyhole opens, then disappears. The subtle glow left in its place is a good indication that it's likely to come back at some point in the future.]

[personal profile] dork_of_keys 2013-05-08 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Actually that was weird. Sora scratches his head, thinking.]

It'll be more fun when the way to the next world appears.

[But why isn't it now? He's almost not sure that he wants to know why it's being delayed, but it's likely they'll find out whether they want to or not.]
