Second Shock [Traverse Town, Voice/Action]

[Someone seems to have caught up with life here, because when Asami comes on the communicator, she looks fairly refreshed and happy. This might have been a sudden swerve in her life, but overall it's not as mentally jarring as the last one she went through.]

[And, apparently, she's decided to have a little fun.]

Just because it's night here all the time doesn't mean we have to be boring. Does anyone want to go shopping with me? I've been feeling a little cooped up in this hotel and it feels like a good time to get out. I'll be in the stores in the Second District if you want to come along.

[Doing something girly would be nice, for a change. Also, practically, she really does need more than one set of clothes. About fifteen minutes after she broadcasts that, Asami can be found in the stores across from the Hotel, just as she said, sorting through a rack of skirts. Not very practical for fighting in, but a girl has to feel pretty sometimes.]

[She smiles at that; she can make some assumptions about the person from the uncertainty in the statement.]

You haven't been shopping very often, have you?

There wasn't a lot of opportunity to, back home.

All the more reason to do it here! You don't even have to buy anything, it's good to just get out of the house and see people you know, or meet new people as well.

Ah well... fair enough, I guess.

[Next will be the makeup and the pretty dresses... She has an eye for style, after all.]

[After the excitement of the Hockomonkey and opening Twilight Town, Namine's happy for a little bit of boring.]

I think I have most everything I need. Thanks, though.

[Really, how many sets of clothes does someone need? Namine tends to manage with two.]

Are you sure? You don't have to buy anything if you don't want.

[As many as one wants. But Asami's never had very few sets of clothes, and she's missing her skirts here.]

[After having only one set for so long, two feels like a luxury. Three would be almost more than she knows what to do with.]

Looking might be nice, but I'll have to bring my Spirits along.

[House rule, Namine goes nowhere without backup.]

[She gets a small laugh at that, and not a cruel one.] There's nothing wrong with that - I think most people can't get their spirits to leave them alone, after all.

[Oh, Namine knows that kind of laugh. Mostly from others' memories, but she knows Asami's not laughing at her.]

Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes.

[It's not long before she arrives with Teddy and Spot in tow.]

[Boring? When there's two worlds to move between and Nightmares to deal with? Granted, that's not necessarily unusual for Xion, but she'd hardly call it boring.]

Go shopping? For what?

[She's used to having a reason to go the stores.]

Clothes, accessories, food - anything you want, really. I'm hoping to find a good skirt or two myself. Do you want to come?

I guess I could see if there's anything new. I don't really need anything, though...

Good! Shopping doesn't need to be about actually getting anything, it's something you can do to have fun and just hang out with other people. I know Bolin would love if more people came.

[Because of course he's coming. He likes shopping anyway and she's not giving him a choice.]

[Well, this is a new idea to Xion. Checking shops occasionally to see if there's anything new she can understand. Shopping as a social activity isn't something that ever occurred to her.]

You're sure? I can be there soon.

Hmm... why not? It's been a while.

Great! I'll be at the shops across from the Hotel, and I'll drag along Bolin to carry everything for us.

[She's under no impression that she'll walk away from this without buying anything, so might as well use what help she's got!]

Oh, just thinking back when I was in highschool.

And all the girls I knew there that would decide the only thing to do in a freaky constant night planet of weird angry animals is go shopping.

[...She's not entirely sure if that's an insult, but she's pretty sure one's lodged in there somewhere and she frowns just a little at that.]

What's wrong with a little shopping? People need more than one set of clothes to wear, and it's nice to hang out with people and get to know them without having to fight Nightmares all the time.

There's a difference between buying clothes and shopping. One you have a purpose, the other takes way too long.
