third dawn - video / action

[Riku's finally made his way to Twilight Town, and has spent the day exploring. He's currently at the Tram Common, and for some reason is staring at a nondescript piece of wall. Interesting? Not really. But then he begins running his hand along it, as though looking for some kind of hidden mark or indentation. Then, after a minute or so of finding nothing, he gives up.]

...Funny. It's gone.

[He's mostly muttering to himself, unaware the communicator's on. For anyone already familiar with Twilight Town, they'd know he's looking for the crack in the wall that used to be there, leading into the forest. Feeling partly disappointed, partly relieved the way to his old headquarters is gone, he turns away from the wall.]

Alright, Bram. [He looks nearby, to his Komory Bat is looking on curiously,] There's nothing here. Let's keep looking around.

[Later, he'll be sitting on the Station stairs, and makes a private message to those with Keyblades.]

Hey, guys? I'm sending this only to a select few, because I don't want to freak people out, but to tell the truth, I'm getting worried. First there was Traverse Town, which shouldn't still be here in the Realm of Sleep. Me and Sora saw to that. Now there's Twilight Town, which wasn't a Sleeping World the last time we were here, but now it is.

I don't know -- something isn't right about all this, and I don't like it. All these worlds falling into sleep that shouldn't be, and people getting dragged in... The more we learn, the more it seems to be on a bigger scale than we even realised.

Which makes me wonder: what's going on in the real world that could be causing all this?

[And whatever's happening there, just how disastrous is it? Who's there to stop it? Mickey? Yen Sid? As much as he respects the both of them, he's not sure if that will be enough. Not if they're up against an enemy like Xehanort.]

[Riku glances down at his communicator, surprised.]

Oh, was I recording? Sorry. [And because there's really nothing to hide:] There used to be a path here.

Yeah, you were. Where did it lead?

... Did the bat do it? Before Sora can say anything, Bruce squeaks the question to Bram: did you turn the communicator on?]

Oh come on, Bruce. It's none of your business.

But, I was wondering about that. I was over there the other day and it looks like there was never a crack in the wall to start with.

[And later to the private message. He's afraid to even think of this possibility, but...]

You don't... suppose someone or something is finding a way to make these worlds sleep, do you?

[Bram squeaks back and gives an innocent grin. Wasn't him, not at all. Riku just shakes his head and smiles, then replies to Sora's question.]

Maybe if Twilight Town is dreaming, it's dreaming of a time before the hole was made. Maybe it's a time even before the mansion was in ruins -- but I have no idea how long ago that was.

If anyone would know a way to make them sleep, it would be Xehanort. He's crossed into the Realm of Sleep before and knows all about how it works. But why...?

[Another elaborate trap, perhaps, designed to drag countless hearts into nightmares? This one would be even worse than before, if that was the case. Riku could protect Sora from Xehanort's plan, but he's not sure he can protect dozens upon dozens of people.]

[Bruce is amused. Sora just face palms at the Spirits.]

That's possible. It is hard to know how long the mansion was in ruins.

Does he know how to make a world sleep or was he just using the fact that there are some sleeping worlds to his advantage? Although... if that's what he's doing now, then that means someone else is making these worlds sleep. I'm not sure which is worse. We still don't know who that anonymous was...

[Riku and Sora aren't the only keybearers here. Sora's pretty sure they can work through it if they work together. Still, whatever Xehanert's part in this, if it is him this time, it can't be good.]

[Jack balanced on the roof of one of the nearby shops. He had a sea salt ice cream bar in one hand, his staff in the other, and his own Komory Bat hanging from said staff.

He'd been watching the guy examine the wall for some time and he really didn't get it. It was just a wall wasn't it?

What're you looking for?

[Riku looks around for the source of the voice, then finally spots Jack on his perch. And blinks. How long had he been watching?]

In the real Twilight Town, there was a gap in the wall here.

[Long enough. Jack stands up, standing on his tip toes to try and see over the wall. He then hops down and walks over.]

I could try flying over. Is there something important on the other side or something?

I am very worried as well. Everything has seemed off since the start, but it has just gotten worse.

Is there absolutely no way to communicate with the waking world from this realm?

Not really. You might be able to hear peoples' voices if they're around you in the real world, but it's difficult. And if you're asleep, of course there's no way you can answer back...

I don't know what could be causing it, but it doesn't seem right.

If it's something that big...maybe we could tell some of the others? I mean, we're all caught up in this together.

We could, but... I just don't want everyone to worry more than they already are, especially if we don't know what to do about it yet.

[Typical Riku: takes everything upon himself rather than burdening others. It's probably not the best way to handle things, but it's how he's always done it.]

[Ienzo noticed in his own explorations that the hole in the wall was gone. He's not sure why it bothers him; possibly because the mansion was a hive of activity. Despite the fact that he and Riku will likely never be on good terms, Ienzo's curious to hear about Riku's opinion on it.]

Do you suppose that there's no break in the wall because the world is sleeping?

Maybe. [He's reluctant to share information with Ienzo, but they did call a truce. He doesn't necessarily trust him, but there's not much point in trying to be difficult, either.]

Everything we see in the Realm of Sleep is a dream of the world before it fell into slumber -- in other words, the past. Could be that this dream world of Twilight Town is dreaming up a time before the hole was made.

[She's seen it as well; the wall. It's somewhat... strange? She remembers Olette and the others telling her about it. That it's different, even if it's just subtle differences.

But she's here to reply about the second part, which is admittedly the more urgent and the worrying one.]

We have to be here to solve something, right? [She looks concerned, though.] But what if something's happening back home and we're not there...?
