003 [Accidental Video]

[Eraqus's communicator switches on without his doing...in this case, it looks like Kura accidentally turned it on while lifting it up with his tail. Kura peers under the communicator, then temporarily scampers out of sight of it.]

Yaza?

[Kura's not the only one that appears to be searching. Eraqus is looking around the small room he's taken up at Sunset Hill, with Gengo and Chuza also glancing around in confusion.]

Yaza!

[Still nothing. Eraqus stops, looking frustrated.]

Honestly...what good is it to have a Spirit that immediately goes missing?

[He sighs, and walks out of view of the communicator, which is still broadcasting. As soon as he is out of view, a Toximander's head can be seen slowly emerging out of the floor. The Dream Eater blinks in the direction that Eraqus went, looks around a bit, then dives back into the floor.]

Good, huh? [Bolin doesn't move and speaks softly, just allows Yaza to eat at the cake.]

[Yaza continues to munch on the cake, making contented noises. This is pretty good!]

[Eraqus attempts to step a little closer, and Yaza starts to speed up his munching on the cake.]

[Bolin pulls the cake back a bit.]

You're going to make yourself sick if you eat it too fast.

[He tosses a look at Eraqus. Stay there for a second.]

[Eraqus looks annoyed about being cut off, but remains where he is. Yaza makes a concerned noise and tries to reach up for more of the cake. That stuff is tasty and he wants the rest of it while he can get it!]

[The cake is moved further back. Bolin shakes his head.]

You need to stay still for a bit little guy.

[To placate him Bolin tears a piece of cake and tosses it at Yaza.]

Master Eraqus just wants to get to know you, okay?

[Yaza makes more grasping motions and whines as the cake is moved further away. Nooo, not the delicious cake!]

[He immediately grabs up the piece thrown to him and chows down on it. At the suggestion that he meet Eraqus, Yaza looks his way a bit nervously, then slooooowly stretches out to try and snatch up more of the cake again.]

[Bolin breaks off more cake and tosses more to Yaza...and then passes the cake up to Eraqus.]

You try.

[Bolin then licks some frosting off of his thumb.]

He needs to make a good association with you. I'm hoping cake can be the key.

[Yaza instantly catches the cake in his mouth and gobbles it up. He then watches carefully as Bolin throws another piece to Eraqus.]

One can hope...

[Eraqus bends down and holds the cake piece out so that Yaza could potentially reach it. The Toximander slooowly crawls back down to the floor and ventures closer, at least a little bit quicker than he did before. He paused before jumping up to snatch the piece of cake out of Eraqus's hand, then scurrying away again.]

Good Yaza!

[True it was through a bribe and very brief...but it was a start.]

Now we just need to...uhoh.

[Bolin had looked down and noticed he only had one small bite of cake left.]

[Yaza glances between the rest of the cake that Eraqus has, and the piece that Bolin has. Hmm, choices to make...He eventually scrambles back to Bolin to try and snatch the last remaining piece out of his hand.]

[Eraqus takes off another piece and holds it out to the Toximander again.]

Come, Yaza. You can have some more here.

[Bolin pulls it back and out of reach.]

You can get this piece if you'll take Master Eraqus's first. Just give him a chance Yaza, come on.

[Smiles reassuringly.]

[Yaza tries to reach further for it, and whines at the cake being removed from him. He glances back towards Eraqus, who is extending the other piece of cake toward him. He seems to contemplate his options, then quickly scrambles over, grabs the piece out of Eraqus's hand and then scrambles back.]

Good boy. That's a start.

[Bolin gives him the remaining cake.]

[Yaza jumps up and bites the piece of cake out of his hand, chowing down on it.]

[It seems like something has finally kicked in with all this cake, however, and Yaza's eyes change to green. He rolls over, and then slowly sinks back into the floor...apparently, he's done with treats for now.]

[Eraqus looks down at the floor, and raises an eyebrow.]

A small start, but one at least...

Whoo! [Bolin pumped his fist in the air. It was small, but it WAS a start.]

Hey! His eyes changed colors. [Bolin looked over to Eraqus as Yaza disappeared.] Does that mean something?

[Well, at least Bolin was excited about it. That cake certainly went to good use.]

I noticed. I'm sure it means something, and I've heard of it happening before...but I'm not sure what exactly.

Oh well, as long as Yaza is happy.

[Bolin rises from the floor and brushes crumbs off of his pants.]

You should keep up the treats though, I think it might take awhile but Yaza will come to you more if you do that.

Heh, of course, you'll have to be careful not to overdo it and let Yaza get overweight or spoiled. But I definitely think we're on the right track.

Hopefully so. [He sighs.] I’ll have to begin saving more munny to ensure a large supply of treats then...and somehow, I don’t think Yaza would be opposed to being spoiled.
