[The communicator is turned on to find a bright yellow puffball right in its viewpoint; it seems Linka managed to land on the wrist communicator and turn it on. The surprise is probably that this hasn't happened before. There's a voice coming over the comm unit as Linka stays right where she is, blocking all real view.]

-not too big, kupo, but hopefully you're not gonna need a lot of space for this!

Yeah, hopefully not. But it'll be good to have as much space as I can get-

[-With that, Linka squeaks and takes off, clearing the view to a distorted shot of the Fourth District for a brief moment before Ven automatically reaches up to grab her and stop her from smashing into the overhang above their heads.]

-and not a lot of stuff on the walls.

You'll have that here! Now, you've got your first rent payment, right?

Sure - here you go. [A rustling of cloth, a clink of munny away from the camera; the arm with the comm on it is still holding the wriggling bat.] That's everything, right?

What? Oh, oh yeah. [Not that he needs one, but he takes it anyway - he can give it to Luna if needs be.] Thanks! So what do you think, guys? [Now that his focus isn't on the moogle, Ven lifts Linka to perch on his pauldron, finally giving a fairly clear view of one of the empty storefronts in the Fourth District, with a rather unassuming door and no sign above it or in the single window. Wheeler's pressed up against his leg, the top of his head just in view of the camera; at the question, he and Linka both squeak enthusiastically.] I think this'll make a pretty good clinic for you and your friends.

[Why is it always the bats managing to turn the communicators on? First Bruce, now Linka. Granted, Bruce had a reason to try and Linka... is apparently very clumsy.

Bruce chatters in amusement at the communicator before Sora can properly alert Ven that it's on.]

[Because the bats are the bounciest in multiple dimensions. The Meow Wows' little legs can't get them all that far off the ground, after all.]

Huh? [And he peers down at the comm unit, noticing a picture at last.] This thing was on?

Yeah, it was on. Looked your bat was sitting on it when it came on.

[Sora's faintly amused, if a little miffed at the Spirits being able to work the communicators, either intentionally or accidentally. There are worse things that could be inadvertently recorded, though.]

[Much worse, and Ven knows it. He won't argue.]

I'm kind of surprised she hasn't done that before. [Considering how much she likes to climb all over him.] At least I wasn't in the shower or something.

[Although possibly also kind of amusing, but no way in Hell was Sora going to say that.]

[Yeah he might agree with that, if it wasn't him it happened to. But fortunately wearing electronics in the shower is obviously a no-no.]

I wonder if the moogles can change this thing so she can't do it...

It couldn't hurt to ask. Maybe when they designed it, it didn't occur to them that it could get turned on by accident pretty easily.

Me? I'm renting this place out - I don't think you were here for it, but a little while ago there was this big battle against a really huge Nightmare, and a lot of the Spirits got hurt in it. [So did a lot of people, but he's not mentioning that. At the reminder, Wheeler chitters and presses more up against Ven's leg.] Some of us here know healing magic, but a lot of people don't, so I wanted to do something to help people who can't fix their Spirits up. This place is going to be a little clinic for them.

[Wow he really did miss something. He blinked and then Jack looks serious for once.]

Yeah, I missed that. So you're starting a hospital then...sort of.

[Healing magic. Jack hadn't heard of anything like that before, but he knew there was a lot of strange things here so he just nods.]

[Oh there's so much more strangeness here than you can imagine. As is vice versa for them and what you've been through.]

Kind of? I can heal, but so can others, so I'm mostly going to be making bandages and stuff like that for people who can't. Not everything needs a healing spell, after all.

It's not really a shop, but... yeah, I am.

[The Fourth District is really big and really empty right now.]

Oh, right, I'm sorry. I heard you mention a clinic. Is it going to be for just Spirits?

That's right, I don't know enough about human anatomy to be able to fix them, really.

[More specifically, he knows enough to really get him into trouble if he tries to go beyond that knowledge. So he won't.]

The Spirits seem... simpler? And they can't tell you what's wrong with them, so they need more help.

And people can carry potions or learn spells to help themselves.

[That's probably more than Namine, who only has vague ideas from outward appearance.]

They do, sometimes, like regular animals.

[Or so she guesses.]

Right, and I know people can give their Spirits potions too and they'll help, but mine at least kind of have a hard time drinking them. I wanted to see if I could find a better way to give them medicine.

Yeah - did I forget to tell you I was thinking about it?

Thou didst. [She doesn't really seem concerned about that part, though.] But 'tis a fine notion. Not everyone has healing spells, after all.

It seems like mostly people from these worlds can heal, not from other worlds. I wonder why that is.

[It's an idle question; he doesn't expect Luna to have an answer.]

But I can help when a Spirit needs it, and maybe find a better way to get potions into them. Maybe a little bowl they can drink out of.

The bears do have some troubles with the smaller bottles...

[He nods.] I saw Ursa having some problems, and Wheeler's kind of got a couple too, so I thought I'd experiment. Maybe I can come up with something better.

[Clinic, he said? Wyoming's just going to keep it in mind for future reference. And from what he can tell from glancing over some other people talking...]

You look a bit young to practice medicine, mate.

It's not going to be medicine like that, more first aid - bandages and splints and stuff, but I can also use healing spells on bad injuries.

[He's got a bit of a talent for healing spells thanks to his "elemental" alignment.]
