They're happy to help, except that part where we can't leave.

[He brightens suddenly at a thought, talking just a bit more animatedly.]

I think I heard someone say once that when you dream, time passes differently, or something. Maybe when we wake up, things will be exactly the same. Still...

It doesn't feel like a dream. It's too surreal to be one.

[He glances down at his Dream Eater pieces, hardly thinking about them, then looks up.]

Is there a pool around here? I need somewhere to think. I can sleep there, too.

Then we'd need another way to get from place to place.

There'd probably be some way that we can't think of. Or, we could always build a ground, at least in some places so that we wouldn't get dizzy.

An unlikely possibility, if there's truly no ground to stand on.

I rather doubt that would be sufficient.

It would depend on the reason for there not being ground in the first place.

What if the reason was it just wasn't there? There wasn't anything that ground is made out of.

If a world were sufficiently gaseous as to not support a solid surface, it's highly unlikely life would develop there.

How come? Couldn't flying things live there?

Most terrestrial fliers require a place to land at any number of points during their life, although it is not impossible that a creature could evolve otherwise.

I don't know anything about what evolving is, but I guess if the world is different, they could be too in order to live.

They could. However such a world would prove extremely hospitable to you and I.

The same would probably go for our world and them.
