So... is this really a world of dreams? None of this really sits right with me. It all... makes too much sense, I guess? But there are things that don't make much sense at all, either.

I guess I'll start somewhere simple. What's the best way to make money around here?

[A man in tan armor waves at the screen. A small green figure floats in the air next to him. Behind him, a meow wow and a hebby repp are chasing each other around.]

Hey, welcome to town. I'm York and this is Delta.

[The man indicates the small green figure.]

Best way to make money that anyone's found so far if you can handle it is killing dream eaters; they explode into items and money when they die. If you aren't comfy with that, people are pretty friendly about helping each other out.

Oh, so it's business as usual. That's good to know. The money's accepted everywhere, right? Not just one place?

As far as I've seen so far, there's only the one kind of money and everyone takes it. The moogles sell most of the stuff around here, but there's a cafe, a tea shop, and a place where they'll paint your dream eaters different colors.

[she lets out a sigh of relief] That's a load off my shoulders. This is the first time I've been somewhere that takes a universal currency. [no more hotel-less days this time!]

That reminds me... These Dream Eaters, they said there's a kind that causes nightmares, right? So the more there are, the more nightmares people might have?

Actually the dream eaters we partner with are called spirits, and the ones that attack us are called nightmares.

[Delta steps forward and speaks up.]

Two people who have a greater level of familiarity with dream eaters wrote a guide about dealing with them; I will include a link to that network post here. In addition, I will send along a map that York and I have made that indicates areas of heavy nightmare activity. Please be aware that nightmares may attack outside these points, but the marked areas indicate large groups.

Greetings. I am Ienzo; I own the tea shop; my partner owns the dream eater painting store. If you would rather not hunt dream eaters and are so inclined, there seems to be need of a clothing shop in town.

I don't think those things will be too hard to fight. I'm a lot stronger than I look.

I might think about opening a shop, but I think I'll wait until I've got the hang of living here first.

[Bolin grins. He's glad he's not the only new person any more.]

I know what you mean, you'd think a dream world would have weirder things in it like mountains made of cake or rain falling upside down or people being able to fly or something.

[He shrugs, instead they get multi-colored pets.]

I was told you can fight the Nightmares for munny, they just drop it. I've tested it myself a few times and it does seem to work pretty well.

I mean, sure, the Dream Eaters are a little odd but not the strangest thing I've dreamed about that's for sure.

That depends on what people usually do. I've found that when you're on another world, things aren't usually that easy.

Well beating up enemies usually does the trick. Maybe those nightmares have some.

That's what someone else said. And they drop materials to make more of those things when they're gone. [she wonders how many they drop at a time]

Anyway, at least you don't have to go around breaking things for scraps.

I think a lot of the others earn munny by fighting Nightmares, but there are some shops. I paint dream eaters.

Paint them? Is it really okay to go around painting the monsters?

The Spirits seem to like it. I usually try to avoid Nightmares.

That's... still kind of weird. But as long as they like it, I guess that's okay. What kind of colors are there?

We - I hath simply been hunting Nightmares. 'Tis simple enough, if thou canst fight.

That's what I've gathered so far. It's a lot better than being forced to get a job or running around breaking vases.

[She tilts her head thoughtfully.] We hath never had a job in a shop before, but we are inclined to agree.

Sitting in one place and trying to get people to buy random stuff isn't really my thing. I've never done it myself, so I guess we're both lucky to have avoided it.
