[And here we have a new face. One who seems to have a fairly interesting choice in clothes, if the over-long scarf is any indication. Still, he doesn't seem to mind it any. In fact, he seems to be far more interested in the communicator itself.]

Ah, there we are. You know, it really is fascinating how many different ways to talk to people there are. You’d think that sooner or later all devices like this one would end up looking he same, but I’ve seen so many different kinds, over the years. And none of them are at all alike, except in what they do. Communication, no matter what form it takes.

Oh, enough. I haven't really been counting, you see.

Are they all like this one? Like a dream world?

[It does. Centuries worth of worlds, all of which he'd never stayed on terribly long.]

Oh, no. Not at all. I don't usually visit dreams, you see.

But you've done it before? Visited a dream, I mean. 'Cause you're in one now.

Not dreams, really. But something similar to a dreamscape, maybe.

What do you mean? It was like a dream but it wasn't?

Fiction was made reality. Fiction was reality, actually.

In a manner of speaking, yes. Just all smashed together into one realm.

It could have been, I suppose. But it wasn't the most enjoyable of stays.

Not in the least! Especially since the man in charge of that realm was trying to write us out of existence, so to speak.

In a manner of speaking. We weren't really supposed to be, but we'd shown up there anyway.

So it was just an unexpected world? I guess that can happen sometimes.

You could say that. I certainly hadn't meant to land us there.
