[When North awakes, he can hardly believe his eyes. His room is a warzone of tattered pieces of cloth and a very sorry giraffe in the middle of it.

He can hardly believe it, even when the Giraffe attempts to bleat its excuses. It wasn't my fault, there was another cat, she wanted to help and then I tried but they smelled so good. I'm sorry person, I'm sorry.]

[He runs a hand through his hair and there's a muttered god dammit. This may be the maddest North has been in a while.]

This is a ridiculous request, but, does anyone have anything that can be used as a lock? One that spirits can't open?

[Trouble is nosing her way in, still trying to apologize.]

What about Wash's cat? Did she cause this?

[Jeeves raises a brow, making a pointed up-and-down scan of North's bare top half. Old habits die hard; he can't help falling back into a more formal mode of speech when snarking.] I had assumed, sir, your lack of shirt was not by choice given the number of young women who might see you in such a fashion given the video function. Agent Washington's Spirit, Carmen, has committed various acts of sartorial larceny since her creation.

[The confusion and annoyance have started to fade and North's finally starting clue in that oh yeah, he did use the video function, didn't he? He probably should get up and get a new one.]

I guess you'd be right. My giraffe ate it, or most of it.

So, his cat's been stealing clothes? And doing what with them?

[Probably. Jeeves found the sight of a half-naked, well-built man mildly distracting, but he was used to dealing with it from attending to his employer in the bath.]

Was your shirt covered in ice cream or one of the other Spirit treats? [Because otherwise, he's going to silently judge your Spirit and its lack of any form of apparent intellect. Well, silently judge more than he's doing already.]

In any case, the animal seems to have taken to leaving the articles in other room. To what end, I could not say. [He could say based on the grumbling he's been hearing, but he'd really rather not.]

[Judge away. North loves Trouble as much as his other spirits but he does wonder about her sometimes.]

[He vaguely remembers Wash warning about that, but had been more focused on the fact that his friend had acquired another cat.]

I guess that means I have at least one good shirt left, wherever it turns up.

You might consider an alternate fabric, then. Silk or wool for your nightclothes, perhaps. It may be wise to muzzle the animal at night, as well. [He has little tolerance for willful creatures. It's one of the reasons his own Spirit, Descartes, annoys him to such an extraordinary degree.]

I take it you will be in need of additional items for your wardrobe apart from a single shirt, though? I have some experience in assisting my employer with identifying the most suitable clothing, should you require assistance in that matter.

[That's definitely something to consider, but at the same time, North doesn't want to expand Trouble's tastes if it backfires.]

I probably won't be keeping her out for a while after this.

[He sighs, considering the next question. Really he's just been getting basic things for wearing when he's not in armour. He's never really thought about having anything beyond that. Except for a few nice shirts if there's a party.]

Well, she left me the clothes I usually work out, but yeah, I'll probably be talking to the moogles or Rarity for something.

As I said, I am at your disposal should you require any additional consultation. Your complexion is well-suited to somewhat brighter tones given the warm hue. Solids or simple accents, particularly in shades of blue, would likely enhance your presence and complement your eyes.

[This impromptu fashion advice brought to you with a thoughtful expression from the 1920s man. He'd really like to get North into a proper suit, but he's not certain he'll be able to push that just yet.]

[North is nothing if not patient, but this is not the first time it's happened. Which is why apologetic giraffe noises, whatever those sound like, can be heard throughout the conversation and Trouble is trying to nose her way to forgiveness.

Admittedly, North has not thought of any of that. Granted his fashion has been limited to military fatigues for the past while.]

Bright, yes, but usually cool as well. I've been putting him in purples and greens, mostly, and occasionally in white. A good royal blue might be a nice change, though. What sort of style were you thinking?

[She is definitely designing potential outfits already.]

Style would, of course depend on the gentleman's preferred activity, miss. [He nods deferentially.] Function should always be taken into account, of course, when considering an active man such as Agent North. [Plus 4's for golf, a proper set of trousers for dinner. He's happy the seamstress seems to be in relative agreement with him. He considers North again on the communicator, mentally placing a few different color swatches on him. Green and purple would look all right in limited measure.]

To replace an entire wardrobe, I would think at least one suit for daily wear. A standard Harris tweed, perhaps. It is both durable and the texture may dissuade Agent North's Spirit from eating it. Several sets of clothing for more active moments. I shudder to think of a gentleman about town without a waistcoat and jacket, but I suspect Agent North may prefer such... fashion. A dockworker's attire may be made into something more fitting were some note taken of the note of the trousers not to hang so loosely, and color accents applied with great discretion to the shirt.

[Oh. She's getting the feeling that Jeeves doesn't know North very well at all. The task now is to put her next words politely.]

With all due respect, North's daily wear tends to be his armor. Most Freelancers practically live in it - I had quite the time trying to convince some of them to wear anything else- [She catches herself. Gossip may not be the best course here, and of course that is Carolina's business, even if Rarity never mentioned her by name. Yet.] The point is, he tends to prefer very casual wear - relaxing after a long day, if you will. Jeans, I think, and some nice button-up tops. Maybe even a tie or two, if we can keep Trouble from treating them like midnight snacks.

Although he certainly would look dashing in a suit... [Yep, now she's Making Plans. Good luck, North.]

As I said, miss, I would not think a suit to Agent North Dakota's preferences, however vital it might be to have on hand in any gentleman's wardrobe. Denim or dungaree trousers seem an unfortunate, but suitable alternative for him. [Yes, they're just going to carry on discussing North's clothes in public as if he's not there.]

I'm afraid I do not follow on your suggestion of a tie with such garments, though. You will forgive me for asking, Ms. Rarity, but is such an accessory wholly wise for a gentleman lacking the appropriate jacket, vest, or waistcoat to accompany it?

[Not to mention he shudders at the thought of a man wearing a tie with 'jeans.' He very much hopes that's not what the pony is suggesting.]
