[The video comes at an odd angle, all wild waves of vivid green hair, occasionally rocking nauseously to reveal pale, creamy skin and the flash of dark blue eyes or part of a nervous but friendly smile -- much like the voice that comes over the airwaves.]

I've... never used something like this before, so I hope it's working! [Her laugh comes soft, chiming a few times before dissipating. The screen shakes and a slender hand comes into view, gesturing as she speaks. Slowly her appearance becomes a little more visible; a sideways angle of about two-thirds of her face comes into focus. Though the angle is odd, it's clear that she is an attractive woman and while uncomfortable, she radiates warmth.]

I'm not really sure where I'm going with all of this, I hadn't had much of a plan in mind when I started. [Another soft laugh that implies she's lost in more than one sense of the word. It doesn't reach her eyes, nor does the smile any longer.]

I do have a question, though, if no one minds it. What now?

That's useful to know. I'll keep it in mind! [ She can't heal herself, after all. The last thing she wants is to be in a jam only to be too injured to move forward. ] Do you need to have toys to train them?

[ She thinks it's really cute, but she looks at her currently-nameless Meow Wow. ] I like mine just the way he is, but if he wants to change, that's alright with me. [ Even though she can't really communicate too well with it, she tries to convey this to the creature. It likely doesn't understand, but that's fine with her. ]

[Sooner or later, she'll find out that many of the Dream Eaters can also use healing magic. As to the toys...] It's not necessary, but it's fun and they really like it.

[Jelly Bean, Sora's Meow Wow, likes his paint job.] Most of them seem to like it, but it's okay if you don't want to paint him.

[sylvan]

[ She looks forward to finding that out! ] Then I'll get a few when I can. A quick question about food, though: I know they like treats and sweet things, but should that be all I feed them? I went through a phase as a child where all I wanted to eat were apples and strawberries... [ Which is her way of asking if it's nutritionally sound and if she should try to keep their diet as full of variety as she does her own. ]

Oh! Well, that's a different story! Whatever makes them happy. [ It must be like getting a bath, groomed and primped. A little makeover. It probably makes them feel special. (How cute!) ]

[It's certainly helpful. Sora has to think a little regarding the food.] Well, it seems like they can eat anything. I have one that likes spicy food. They eat bad dreams too, though I'm not a hundred percent sure how that works exactly. But it doesn't seem to hurt them to just feed them the treats either.

[If he had hands instead of hooves at the moment, he'd send her a link to the guide he'd put together about the Dream Eaters. Asking the Dream Eater that's holding the communicator for him now seems to be pushing it a little. Perhaps later, if he doesn't forget.]

They like different things just like anyone else. I haven't met any yet that don't like getting painted, but I guess it doesn't hurt to check with them first and see if they're okay with it. [His own Dream Eaters hadn't minded. Then again, he's still only gotten two of them painted.]

[sylvan]

So I should try many different things and find out what each one likes best? Just like people, they have preferences? [ That's cute. She's going to spend tomorrow fighting and giving her Meow Wow a chance to taste test things! ]

I'll do that when and if I get the chance, thank you. [ She does have the itch to ask how hard it is to do things without hands, but that would be rude. So she doesn't. ] Is there a benefit to having many different Dream Eaters?

Yeah.

[He wouldn't really think that was rude. Then again, it still hasn't occurred to him that it's not apparent that this isn't his true form.] Hmm, well, they all have different abilities. A lot of them can use magic and some can use healing magic.

[sylvan]

I see. I have my own magic, so I don't necessarily need that. But I can't use White Magic, so it would be preferable to have one that can heal me or itself.

You can only carry around so many potions, you know!

Yeah, there's a few people here who can't use magic at all, so the Dream Eaters have been really helpful there. Meow Wow is one of the ones that can heal, so you're good there.

[sylvan]

Ah, really? [ She sounds so excited! Like this one chose her specifically because she couldn't use healing magic, like she's been granted some great privilege. She beams at him. ] So, do I... do I order it, or does it do whatever it feels is necessary in battle?

They usually do it when they sense it's necessary, but you can ask them to do it too.

[sylvan]

I see! That's good to know. So they're just like Eidolons, then...

[dork_of_keys]

Eidolons? [Sora knows what summons are, but 'eidolon' is a new term to him.]

[sylvan]

Summoned beings of great power that will aid a Summoner in battle, assuming they have granted that Summoner their powers.
