Fourth Stitch: Making My Way Downtown

[It's immediately obvious that Rarity is in Ponyville - not because she's a pony, as that's her default state of affairs, but because it's broad daylight outside. She smiles at the communicator and moves it in a slow pan, showcasing everything before her; as she's standing on the bridge next to the portal, this encompasses the town square and a good amount of scenery.]

For those of you who haven't seen the new world yet, this is Ponyville, where Princess Celestia and Princess Luna and Pinkie Pie and I are from! Well, I suppose Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are technically from Canterlot, but we don't seem to be able to go there at the moment.

Anyway, now that you all have the hang of walking, I'd be more than happy to show you around if you haven't already had a chance to do some exploring of your own. There are Nightmares in a few places, however, so be sure your Spirits are up to task when you come. And if you haven't quite figured out walking yet, I'd be happy to help you with that too. [And if Emile and Chell don't think they're getting the full tour of the town, they're sadly mistaken.]

Oh! And there might be a timberwolf made with white bark walking around sometimes. Don't panic - it's actually quite friendly! Evidently not everypony becomes- well, a pony when they come here.

And Pinkie, I'd say we're long overdue for a welcome party, wouldn't you?

[ Carolina is glad that Rarity thought to mention about the timberwolf. People would likely pay more attention to a friendly unicorn than the prickly ponylancer. ]

Given we've had one non-pony form so far, are there any other animals native to Ponyville that we should be aware of as possible forms people could take once through the portal?

[ ...Someone is determinedly ignoring the comment about a party, though. ]

[Well, yes, and she'd imagine Princess Celestia or Princess Luna could do much more damage to a timberwolf than she could with a rock. Best to head that off at the pass.]

There are quite a few, yes - manticores, dragons, diamond dogs [And that rather displeased expression and tone of voice should tell you exactly what Rarity thinks about them.], phoenixes...I don't think anypony would be a parasprite - they're too small - or a hydra - they're much too big. There are bat ponies and zebras too, of course.

I've noticed that none of them are really here, though. It's only whomever decides to visit and Nightmares.

Now, would you like me to make you something nice to wear for the party?

[ Having seen them both fight, Carolina had little doubt that would be the case. Hopefully this warning would prevent any other misunderstandings. At least it had only been a rock. Fire would have been a much bigger disaster. ]

[There's a brief, stunned expression on Carolina's equine face, before her head shakes a bit.] That's quite a bit of variety right there, though I don't think I've ever heard of parasprites or diamond dogs. And why do I get the feeling that's for the best.

[ If there could be unicorns and pegasi, and AIs turned into dragons, other mythological beasts weren't THAT impossible to imagine here. Perhaps it's merely Rarity's matter of fact tone.. ]

[Eventually Rarity will remember that other people's worlds may not be quite as fantastic as Equestria, even if Equestria is very pedestrian for her.]

Oh, were you planning on wearing the teal dress? You could, but it just about matches your coat. It will look nice, but I'm certain I could whip you up something much nicer. It's no trouble at all.

[ You'd think being from a space-faring era would have cured that sort of thing for Carolina. Then again, humans always found something fascinating in the fantastic and the unknown. When it wasn't, you know. Trying to kill them. ]

There's plenty of other things you could spend your time on Rarity. Don't worry about me. [A pause, followed by a question she's going to regret asking later:] Is it bad for my dress to match my coat?

The last time I ran into diamond dogs, they kidnapped me and forced me to mine jewels for them. It's an experience I'd rather not repeat.

Well, yes, but I most certainly have the time to make an ensemble for a friend. It's what I do.

[She's taking an interest in fashion Rarity is so proud!] Oh, no, of course not! Lots of ponies like matching dresses to coats - I'm a fan myself from time to time. It's just that usually matched fashion has a bit more structure or texture to it, so it stands out. The dress you have now is lovely, but it won't provide any contrast to your coat - it simply doesn't have the structure.

[Because, well, it was made to accentuate her coloring as a human, not as a pony. Something different will be needed here.]

So there aren't any attacks like in the last place that showed up, right? That'd ruin a tour.

No, I imagine not. [Well, maybe not the diamond dogs themselves, but kidnapping and forced slavery? Not. Cool.] I don't think you'll need fear a reprisal of that, if those things were here.

..What? [Carolina's ears flick forward in honest surprise at being called 'friend'. That simply doesn't happen with Carolina.

The red maned ponylancer doesn't even realise that Rarity has started leaping enthusiastically onto the subject of fashion until it's likely already too late.] Well, that's.. important to have, I suppose. Though I don't know what colours wou--[Her head shakes, noooo, no more encouraging the pony!]--Look, it's really not necessary, Rarity.

Wolves made of sticks and leaves and branches. [Wolves made of timber. Yep.] They tend to live in the Everfree Forest, but the only one I've seen here is actually a person.

[It doesn't matter where Maine is right now - there is a party-cannon-bedecked Meowjesty coming for him. There's a pink pony perched high up on its head, apparently doing some kind of arcane cupcake dance.]

[WHAT THE HELL. Maine's reacting out of instinct, pulling down his Brute Shot and throwing up a defensive stance, but he holds off on firing because, well. Pony. He eases up in utter confusion a moment later and waits for them to bridge the distance before figuring out how he should react.]

[She slides down Lord Tubbington's side as they draw closer, bouncing up to Maine. The Meowjesty, meanwhile, flops down on his belly to peer at Maine. To lick or not to lick?]

HI! You're new here, right? I'm Pinkie Pie, and you're definitely new! I like your helmet, it's awesome and shiny! You wanna cupcake?
