Project Freelancer was created to help bring about the end of the war. Mostly we were combating insurrectionist forces rather than engaging in actual combat.

You don't consider Innies to be direct combat? What were you fighting them with, pillows?

[Sure, maybe the Covenant was doing a better job at wiping out the whole of humanity, but Kat fought the insurrectionists as well; she didn't think they were any light matter, either.]

More like guerrilla operations. Plus I usually take sniper duty.

[He doesn't really want to admit to his doubts. Or what he's been told about the how they weren't actually Insurrectionists. It's something he still has to come to terms with, which is hard to do when you haven't really experienced it.]
