[There's a close-up view of a well-manicured goatee, though there's a bit of blood around the lips, and as he adjusts the camera, it's plain to see that the clearly-attractive man has definitely been in a fight recently. Put mildly. And also that he's wearing some kind of metal armor suit thing, with the face-mask open.

He opens his mouth to speak, then closes it again. Twice. This is not a man accustomed to being at a loss for words.]

Please tell me there's someone in this sparkly-rainbow-nightmare than can get a full sentence out, with minimal KUPO, that can tell me what the hell is going on?

...please?

[The camera pans out just enough to show the komory bat perched on the top of the man's head, chittering away happily. Tony swipes at him half-heartedly, as if they've been through this a few times already, and the bat makes no motion to vacate his vantage point.

Tony looks pleadingly into the camera, and with a deep sigh, cuts the feed.]

What would you like to know?

Any breakthroughs on how or why we're here or how to "wake up"? Any chance I'm hallucinating all this?

I got the impression the welcoming committee has been giving the same speech for a while.

If you mean the moogles, then yes. However, we have yet to discover either why we're truly here or how to wake up.

In addition, I'm afraid it's quite real.

[North had been looking for an answer to that for a while now.]

I really wish I could give you an answer that makes a bit more sense than you've woken up in a dream world, but that's all I've got.

[There's a flash and a little blue and red hologram wearing halo armour is hovering beside North's head.]

Is he okay?

[Tony nods. He'd figured.]

What's the electrical situation here? I could use a charge.

[He taps the chest-piece of the suit for emphasis. Damn thing is heavy without the hydraulics.]

You're in a dream world. Yes, it's real. No, nobody's figured out how to wake up yet. No, nobody knows how we got here or why we're here either.

And that bat either thinks you're its mother or its best friend. It's not going to leave you alone.

[As if to illustrate the point, Wash's bat, Fang, swoops in and lands on Wash's shoulder, squeaking excitedly at the feed. Hi hi hi!]

[Tony closes his eyes just a moment and swallows down the mania that keeps creeping up his throat.]

Heh, I'd been avoiding sleep for other reasons, this is just... [he shakes his head]

And uh, to answer what I'm hoping isn't another hallucination, no, I'm not okay, but that's normal.

That depends on what you're looking for. There is at least some manner of electricity here, but I can't say if it would be enough for your needs.

[The bat on Tony's head starts chittering away, wings flapping in emphasis. Oh hi oh my gosh he's so shiny isn't he I just can't even...

Tony kind of groans and glares up at his eyebrows, then rolls his eyes back down to focus on Wash.]

Awesome.

I was afraid of that, too.

Anything is better than nothing, right now. I can make it work.

[Fang keeps on squeaking in earnest. I know right? Fang's person is shiny too! Maybe the other bat's person can join Fang's person and his friends and they can all be shiny together!]

[Wash just shrugs, and Fang squeaks again, going along for the ride.]

They grow on you. Plus, they're pretty good in combat.

Are you alright?

[The most worrying part of this is the injuries on his face, at least to her.]

You'd have to ask the moogles how to tap into the power grid. However, should it prove to be a suitable secondary option, there are individuals here in possession of magical abilities, some of which may include lightning-based spells.

[uuuuggghhhhh magic sjdfhkjdsh... but that has worked before.]

Hrm. So, my options are the moogles or magic or both. I... okay, I don't like it, but it just might work.

[Tony's bat (as yet unnamed) harmonizes along with its chatter. Yes all the shiny oh yes it will be fun and beautiful. Is your person nice?

Tony chuckles, trying to keep the panic from surfacing. It's just a damn chittery colorful bat, he's lived with worse, he can handle this.]

Like a fungus, I bet.

Combat, right, they have evil twins ready to eat my face, so I've been informed.

[There's a nod that's presumably meant to be the rough equivalent of 'you're welcome' and then he's continuing on.]

[Her face falls slightly. Oh, dear, that's not good.]

Do you have a potion? There should be one in the bag the Moogle gave you. That should take care of things, at least until you can get somewhere and rest.

Hah, no. These are-- [his eyes go wide a moment as it all flashes back, everything that happened before he magically ended up here and...

He bites the inside of his cheek, hard, trying desperately to get control back for just a little longer. He clears his throat.]

This is what it looks like when your home comes crashing down on you.

No, I think I've got it from-- actually... I need to get out of this thing. And it's not exactly light. [He rolls his shoulders back with a wince.]

You have any idea where the nearest power grid connection is? I'm going to have to drag this hunk of junk.

I do not. However, if you would like an extra set of hands to help carry it, I could provide that.

[Yesssss and they come in all colors too! Blue and purple and tan and now your person is red and it'll be great! A rainbow of shiny persons! The squeaking subsides for a moment as Fang ponders and answer to that question. Yes, he is! As long as other people are nice too. He's not nice when other people aren't.]

Something like that, yeah.

You haven't run into the Nightmares yet, have you. [And his armor doesn't look to be in great shape - between that and his face, it's probably safe to say this guy recently lost a fight, or was at least in one.] Is your armor in good enough condition for combat?

[He just. Stares. There are words. He knows there're words. He just can't remember how to make them. Potion. That. Does not sound promising. And he doesn't trust the precious moments teddy bears with angler-fish antennae.

Right. Words. He should. Say... something. The pony... the... pony seems... nice enough... oh god.]

I. Okay. Potion. Just. Rest. Sure.

[He might have left out a few words.]

[ Lin's seen that look before, but for the moment, she doesn't ask too many questions. This place is shock enough to the system. ]

There's a hotel in the Second District, where you can rest, though if you're in the First District, the cafe is a safe location to catch your breath. Your little friend there-- [chinnod for the bat] --should be able to ward of the worst off the Nightmares that hang around there.

There's not much in the way of medical supplies beyond the potions if you don't possess some form of healing ability.

[And Tony definitely doesn't look like a waterbender.]
