[Bolin is grinning from ear to ear. He looks ENTIRELY too pleased with himself.]

Everyone. I'd like you to meet Mako Jr.

[Bolin turns the communicator to point at a Hebby Repp that is apparently Mako Jr. Said Hebby Repp bounces a few times and flips in the air, clearly excited to be here. One might also notice that the Hebby Repp is wearing a red scarf, tied around it's neck. Bolin, off screen continues.]

I made the scarf myself. I couldn't very well name him Mako Jr. if he didn't have a scarf. The only problem is trying to keep it on him and --

[Suddenly Mako Jr. coughs up some fire and the scarf starts to sizzle, quickly catching on fire.]

Ack! No! Bad Mako Jr! Don't set the scarf on fire I worked too hard on that!

[There's some flailing as the communicator is moved and Bolin is rushing over to put the flames out. He gets it out quickly enough and sighs, sitting back. He forgets the communicator for a moment, focused more on Mako Jr.]

We're going to have to work on your aim. We can't have you setting the scarf on fire every time you fight.

[Mako Jr. looks downcast, kicking one of its feet. Clearly it is sad to have disappointed Bolin. Bolin realizes this and quickly waves his hands, trying to placate the creature.]

Hey, hey. It's okay. We'll work on it.

[Mako Jr. squeaks happily and in a split second has slithered around Bolin's neck, curled up and draped happily over his shoulders. It nuzzles his face.]

Yeah, I love you too buddy.

Yeah. Everyone kept warning me about these little guys and fire so I kept thinking of Mako.

I had to name mine Mako Jr. once I made my own. What do you think?

Perhaps thou couldst find someone to fireproof the scarf? We know such spells exist in our world.

Really? You wouldn't happen to know the spell would you? Guess I could ask the moogles if they know something.

We did once...but we hath not cast it for over a thousand years...

Would you want to give it a try or...well Sora said the moogles might have something for it. I guess I could ask them first.

That may be best. Miscast spells can be...unpredictable, and we should not like to ruin thy scarf.

Hmm. Well all right. I'll let you know what I find on fireproof magic item things.

Sure did. I taught myself. I used to make clothes like this for Pabu but, well, he's not here.

Uh huh. He's my pet fire ferret and our team's mascot.

So I guess having the Spirits is like having pets?

Yeah, it is actually. I just wish I knew how to speak Spirit as well as I speak Fire ferret. It'd be easier.

Oh well, guess I have to work on it.

You may try appealing to its pride. Hebby Reps seem to have a lot of it...or rather, at least it helped with this one.

Uh... not really. The Moogles might have some fire proofing stuff, though.

If nothing else at least until I get Mako Jr better trained.
