Hello? This is Enforcer Testerossa-Harlown, of the Time-Space-
[She pauses]
I’m sorry. I’m Fate, Fate Testerossa-Harlown. I understand that there are people who are working together in this- wherever this is. And I want to help.

If I understand things correctly, we all come from different worlds, different dimensions. Where I come from, I’m apart of an organization that was founded on the idea that in order to survive and thrive peoples of different worlds have to come together, and I guess I feel like I have a duty to try and live up to that.

[turns to the side- you can see her black and yellow weapon on the edge of the screen]
Bardiche?

[In an electronic male voice:]
Communications clear. All Systems Green

[She turns back and smiles lightly]
Good! To those who receive this I want you to know that I hope we can work together- not just as allies of convenience but as good friends.
[She bows, although because the com is on her wrist this just makes the screen jerk around.]

As it happens, I am! [...because the world of Final Fantasy IV is inconveniently named 'Earth' as well.] Perhaps you've heard of the legendary Eblan and its elite clan of ninjas?

[Fate's eyes widen, her face is filled with shock and excitement.]
Not as such, but I know that Ninja's are only found in Japan. Is Eblan part of Japan?

Do you know of the Takamichi clan? My best friend comes from a family of ninja!

I've never heard of either of those things. Eblan is a kingdom. MY kingdom, in fact! You are looking at the head of the Eblan clan, and King of Eblan!

[He flips his cloak back in an incredibly melodramatic gesture that makes it snap loudly.]

[Fate loses her excitement. Her eyes seem to grow heavy: suddenly the hope that rescue was right around the corner seemed much more remote.]
I guess... I guess its a different Earth. Sorry Your Majesty, I guess I was mistaken.

Hey, what are the odds? But don't be so formal. Call me Edge! It may not be the same Earth, but I'm still an amazing ninja, so don't look so down!

[rubs the beginnings of tears from her eyes and giggles at Edge's silly demeanor. She smiles at the man.]

Your right, no matter where your from I'm no more or less lost then I was before.

Some months ago people started to appear here. Over the course of those months, we've found several objects that appear to have a faint voice attached to them, but we haven't produced a coherent message from them yet. In addition, shortly after the first of us arrived, a mysterious message taunted us for being here and unable to escape, but we haven't heard anything from that source since that point in time.

The realm of sleep is a known quantity where I originate from, but people getting trapped here isn't normal, so there must be some outside force exerting energy to keep us here.

[The realm of sleep!? Then she was well out of the reach of the borough. Yet, if she was only sleeping then at least her friends were likely safe.]

So were are asleep? How does time pass in the waking... of course you wouldn't know, I'm sorry.

If we are sleeping, then how real is this world? Its not like a lucid dream- you can feel pain and pleasure just as easily as home.

For all intents and purposes, though your body is sleeping somewhere, it's as if you're living normally. You need to eat and sleep, you can get hurt. I suppose it's possible to die, though thankfully we haven't had to test that possibility as of yet.

I'm a mage, but it may mean something slightly different to what you're used to. There are people from some very different...realms, dimensions, I suppose you could call them. Some seem unaware of magic, while others are unaware of technology.
