[Namine isn't often one to start conversations on the communicator like this, but recent conversations have given her an idea. So here she is, her sketchbook in hand.]

I know some of us agreed to help look for the missing items in Ponyville, and I thought it might help if we had a drawing of them so everyone knows what we're looking for. I've tried one...

[She holds up the sketchbook. While she has the basic shapes of the jewels on the necklaces and tiara right, some of the details are wrong. For instance, the necklaces look like pendants on chains instead of collars, and the star on the tiara is smaller than it should be.]

...but I'm not sure if it's right. If I get a good description, though, I'm sure I could do better, and that might help everyone who is looking.

While this is an excellent idea, I would like to add that the actual, physical Elements of Harmony may not even exist at this point. The true strength of the Elements is in the six qualities they represent, and I believe that striving to embody these qualities is the best way to make sure that the Elements reappear... or are not ever needed.

[Celestia can't help but laugh at this.] Oh, no. They're real, physical objects with a purpose and a fixed existence. But each one can be used best by somepony who embodies that element best. When I used them alone, they were nowhere near as effective as when used by the current six bearers.

I meant that the Elements of Harmony, the artifacts, are nothing without the elements of harmony, the concepts and feelings.

That is more the right of it. Make no mistake, they are absurdly powerful items who have been necessary to save Equestria on more than one occasion, but... you need not fear an enemy if you can reform him, for example.

No, the two can't be compared. The Elements are far stronger, but far less useful.

The Elements of Harmony are of such power that they can only be used against a threat of equal magnitude. It would be incredibly unwise to unleash them on a random Nightmare in the back alleys of Traverse Town.

I only hope we can find a way to make them of use properly, when we do.

You're very close, actually. The necklaces are more like chokers, gold with the jewel set in, and the star on the tiara is bigger - it is the focal point of the piece, after all. It's a very good representation, especially since you've never even seen them before.

[Having waited long enough to hear both Celestia's explanation as well as see the refined sketch, Soma now has a good enough idea to actually go looking for these things.]

Thanks. You've saved us all a lot of time with that drawing - knowing the physical form of what we're looking for should make this much easier.
notquitedracula: (Furtive glance)

...I really need some new icons. DX

[Soma returns the smile, a bit awkwardly - and the blush too, come to that.]

You're welcome. Are you planning to join us in searching for them?

[It's not your fault he's not used to pretty girls smiling at him; the usual response involves cold shoulders, or running and screaming. He's always found that last bit odd.]

Yeah, that could be a problem. I'm pretty sure there are enough of us with protective abilities to keep you safe if it did happen, though.
notquitedracula: (Chillin')

[Glad to hear it. Just hope his other half doesn't try to eat you someday down the road, that would be awkward.]

Everyone always underestimates the value of a good support team. I can't tell you how many times I wished I had a doctor or healer with me in that blasted castle; potions will only do so much, you know? And what little healing magic I know now is hardly up to keeping me alive in a fight...

[...okay, he may be ranting at this point. Sorry!]
